Mardi Gras is back, with parades rolling again on the Westside! The season of feasting before the fasting season of Lent, will once again have the air resounding with “Throw Me Somethin’” by parade-goers along with King Cakes of multiple shapes and flavors (including boudin-stuffed), from local bakeries and restaurants.

King cakes and party orders are already being called in for family-friendly feasts along the parade route! Spots like Bergeron’s, the PoBoy House, Cou-Yon’s, Walk-On’s and area grocery stores have your party covered! Check out our dining listings and pick your favorite spot

Warm Up, Rev Up!

Plan to stay the weekend for the Southern Big Bucks Nationals and Cajun King Shootout at State Capitol Raceway. Warm Up & Rev Up on the Westside! You can get daily spectator tickets or a 3-day weekend pass. Box racers have a chance at $10,000 and No Box racers a chance at $5,000!

We’ve had some gumbo weather of late, but frankly gumbo is good just about anytime! And, this seafood gumbo, is about as good as it gets! Featuring a dark roux, shrimp, oysters and crab meat, it’s a trifecta of Louisiana flavor!
