As the year draws to a close, we want to share the incredible impact your support had on Marigold Hospice Care in 2024. Your generosity has been the driving force behind our collective success. We are grateful for your support of our cause.

Here are some of our recent updates:

Your Support Creates Impact!

Through your dedicated support, we're happy to share that construction is well underway at the Marigold Hospice Care site. Based on the current schedule, completion of construction is scheduled for early this summer.

Our dedicated teams are working hard to get ready for our grand opening in September 2025. 

In the coming months, we aim to raise $1 million to provide the hospice with furnishings that offer a home-like comfort for every individual we serve.

We are thankful to address a need felt by many in our community and to begin a new chapter of end-of-life care in Clarington and beyond.

2nd Annual Hike or Bike Event | Raises More Than $109,000

The Second Annual Hike or Bike for Marigold Hospice Care was held on September 22, 2024. With the unwavering support of our Annual Fundraising Committee, we united passionate bikers, hikers and runners for a meaningful cause.

Our community of supporters enjoyed a beautiful day outdoors, raising an impressive total of $109,762.70 to support the capital fund to build the Marigold Hospice.

Jill Richardson’s Legacy

“Nearly eight years ago my wonderful husband died of cancer. He was under palliative care in our home, which went as well as one can expect during such a time. It was when he could no longer lift himself out of his ejectable chair that this task became unmanageable. I was unable to give him the care he deserved and needed by myself." said Jill Richardson, when asked what motivated her to get involved with a hospice movement in Clarington.

Why Marigold Hospice Care?

With each passing day, the distance from their beloved mother became increasingly overwhelming for Ann’s family as she bravely fought a terminal illness. Once the heart and soul of their family, her illness and her absence were profoundly felt, leaving a void that seemed impossible to fill. After being moved to a hospice over an hour away, the lengthy commute became a heavy burden for her children, especially the eldest son, who was already balancing the demands of his job and family life. This added strain left him grappling with deep guilt for not being there to support her.

The opening of Marigold Hospice Care in their community brings some solace to Ann’s family. This new facility promises essential support and accessibility for families navigating similar hardships.
