Building excellence in end-of-life care in our community

Greetings!

Thank you for your generous support of our community. We wish you warmth and joy this holiday season from all of us at Marigold Hospice Care.

Marigold Hospice Care is Officially Open

We are pleased to announce that Marigold Hospice Care is officially open. Our dedicated team is here to provide compassionate support and comfort to our residents and their families during their most challenging times. The official ribbon-cutting ceremony took place on October 17 and was attended by our valued donors, supporters, and community members. The day was filled with smiles, laughter, and many cherished memories as we celebrated this new chapter together.

In late October, we welcomed our first resident. Since then, we have been seeing steadily increasing numbers of residents and families,  demonstrating the urgent need for compassionate care in our area. Thank you for your support as we continue to serve our residents with care and dignity.

Maple Grove United Church Donated $145,000

Maple Grove United Church has made a generous $145,000 donation from the proceeds of the sale of the church, exemplifying true commitment to community support. This significant contribution will help fund various programs and initiatives that supports our residents and their families.

We are grateful to the church members who made an investment in the community while sadly, saying goodbye to their church.

Royal Canadian Legion Branch 178 Donated $50,000

We were honoured to receive a $50,000 donation from the Poppy Fund, presented by the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 178, Bowmanville.

This remarkable gift will directly support the compassionate care Marigold Hospice Care provides to residents and families in our community.

Thank you for your continued dedication to serving and supporting our veterans and community.

Thank You, Sarah Nelson and Wayne Marquis

We are incredibly inspired and grateful for the generosity of Sarah Nelson and Wayne Marquis, who donated $10,000 to Marigold Hospice Care. Sarah has truly gone above and beyond to support our hospice. For her birthday, she organized a fundraiser, encouraging her friends to donate instead of giving her gifts.

Thanks to her incredible efforts, she raised over $800. Your kindness and support make a real difference in the lives of those in need. Thank you, Sarah and Wayne, for leading by example.

Your generosity makes our work possible and we are grateful.

Preparing Your Legacy Event

Thank you to everyone who attended our first "Preparing Your Legacy" event at Wilmot Creek. Whether you're just starting to think about your legacy or actively planning, we hope the information shared will guide you in securing your future and that of your loved ones. Special thanks to our expert speakers Louise Lush, Sarah Shipley, and Denis Beaulieu for their invaluable insights, as well as our Board Chair, Melodie Zarzeczny and Wilmot Creek’s Betty Khattab for their support.

Estate planning is a gift to those you care about.

We’ll be holding more events, so follow our page for updates or contact us if you are interested in attending or holding an event. Let’s continue the conversation about legacy and planning.

Hike or Bike for Marigold Hospice Care

On September 21, we hosted a fantastic hike-and-bike event that united our community for a day of outdoor fun. 150 individuals attended our hike or bike. The weather was perfect, and all our participants enjoyed lunch and music after they returned from exploring stunning trails and scenic routes. Laughter and camaraderie filled the air as everyone shared stories throughout the day.

We raised over $127,000. It was a memorable event, and we can't wait to see you all next year.

Blooms & Gratitude – A Fundraiser for Marigold Hospice

Apple Blossom Flowers donated $6,700 to Marigold Hospice Care from the Blooms & Gratitude workshop fundraiser event held on October 9.

The event united our community members, local businesses, and supporters for an evening filled with creativity and connection.

Guests enjoyed delicious food and wine while crafting their own stunning Thanksgiving centerpiece floral arrangements, guided by inspiration and gratitude.

Thank you for always supporting our hospice. Your generosity truly makes an impact in our community.
