Vigil of Solidarity and Prayers
On Sunday, October 28, approximately 650 people, including representatives from about 35 different faith communities gathered for a candlelight vigil at Congregation Kol Shofar in Tiburon to honor the lives lost in the Pittsburgh shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue and to support our Jewish sisters and brothers here in Marin and everywhere.
Leaders from various traditions shared prayers, songs, and words of wisdom, love, and resilience.
Thank you to Congregation Kol Shofar for hosting and for every person, faith leader, organization, and congregation that joined in solidarity in the belief that love is more powerful than fear, hate and violence.

MIC Monthly Meditation
Wednesday, November 14th
First Presbyterian Church
1510 Fifth Ave.
San Rafael, CA 94901
Cost: Love Offering at the door
(suggested donation $10-$20)
Every second Wednesday of the month, a leader from a different spiritual community will offer a meditation or spiritual practice and explain how it flows from the basic tenets of his/her faith tradition. Each gathering will include time for questions and insights that emerge from our shared time of intentional spiritual practice.
This month our leader is:
Sylvia Krug
Bahá'í
Sylvia Marie Krug is passionate about the benefits of meditation to increase life satisfaction and to heal old wounds. Having lost her mother to breast cancer at an early age and with only an alcoholic father to rely on, a life of homelessness, addiction, and poverty seemed inevitable. But Sylvia choose a healing path and credits meditation and her spiritual practice for saving her life. In her Hypnotherapy practice for over 16 years, Sylvia employed guided imagery and Reiki to help clients align with their true nature, release the past, and take back their power. As a single mother, Sylvia raised her two college-educated daughters who are happy, healthy contributing members of society, and she is blessed with two devoted sons-in-law. Sylvia is a student of ACIM (A Course in Miracles) and is a fourth generation American Bahá'í who owns and resides in her modest home in Novato, California.

Movie Screening by NIOT:
Light In The Darkness
Thursday, November 8,
6:30 - 8:30 pm
Unity In Marin
Novato, CA 94949
Unity in Marin will be hosting the upcoming Not In Our Town (NIOT) movie screening.
Not In Our Town: Light in the Darkness is a one-hour documentary about a town coming together to take action after anti-immigrant violence devastates the community. In 2008, a series of attacks against Latino residents of Patchogue, New York culminate with the murder of Marcelo Lucero, an Ecuadorian immigrant who had lived in the Long Island village for 13 years.
Over a two-year period, the story follows Mayor Paul Pontieri, the victim's brother, Joselo Lucero, and Patchogue residents as they openly address the underlying causes of the violence, work to heal divisions, and begin taking steps to ensure everyone in their village will be safe and respected.

Welcome to the Green Corner
From Interfaith Power and Light:
For decades, oil and gas drilling has devastated Creation and harmed some of the most vulnerable communities in our state - polluting our air and water, and sickening thousands of people. Please sign the letter linked below to tell Governor Brown it's time to take real, significant steps to phase out oil and gas drilling in California. The planet cannot survive on half measures.
PLEASE ADD YOUR NAME TO THE LETTER attached HERE and please share with other people of faith.
Thank you!
