The Cultivator - August 2022
Marinated Cucumbers
Bindweed - Our Weed of the Year
Tool Giveaway
The CobraHead Newsletter
Happy late summer, dear readers! August is often a great month for us to spend a little less time in the office and a little more time in the garden (or on vacation, as was the case for Andy and me). As summer winds down, the harvest season ramps up. And you'll see below that the vegetable we have in excess right now is cucumbers. Judy shares a simple way to dress them up as a side salad or maybe a sandwich topper. Meanwhile, Noel has been dealing with a rather persistent weed foe this year.

Like many other businesses, we have not been immune to the supply chain issues affecting industries across the board. Even though they are locally produced here in Wisconsin, production on our CobraHead Long Handles has gone through manufacturing delays. We anticipate we'll have them back by mid- or late-September. We'll send out an announcement once we have a better idea of when we'll have them ready to ship.

Don't forget to enter our monthly giveaway (just reply to this email and request to be entered). As always, feel free to leave us any additional comments when you do!

It's easy to get buried in cucumbers this time of year. Judy's recipe for quick marinated cukes tastes great. And it's simple!

If you garden, you have to deal with weeds. Some cause you more grief than others. Noel has been picking out bindweed to the point he's made it his "Weed of the Year"

Andy's Photo Corner
Earlier this month, Anneliese and I (and seven other friends) took an eleven-day road trip out west. We camped for a few days in Custer State Park in the Black Hills of South Dakota and later spent several days in Yellowstone National Park. Along the way, we stopped at Badlands National Park, Grand Teton National Park, Devils Tower National Monument, and more. While I can't say camping for 10 days straight (with limited access to showers) was my favorite aspect of the trip, I did get to enjoy some truly spectacular sights while also learning to wake up with the sun. Below is a small selection of photos from both the Badlands and Needles Highway in the Black Hills National Forest. Stay tuned for my Yellowstone pics in next month's newsletter!
