Dear Marine families,

MarineParents.com, Inc., was founded nationally 16 years ago on January 21, 2003 to provide support, information, and services to Marines and their family members, and create opportunities for the public to support our troops through the organization's outreach programs.

Family members are encouraged to support one another through activities and networking provided by the organization and guided by trained volunteers. Outreach to wounded, ill, and injured troops is volunteer-centered with in-person contact. Additional troop-support centered programs are designed to actively engage individuals and communities across the United States while maintaining the privacy of military personnel. All services are offered free to family members, Marines and military personnel.

God bless and Semper Fi!
Marine Corps Marathon Bibs

Team Marine Parents (TMP) has been accepted as a U.S. Marine Corps charity partner for the 7th year in a row. Through charity partners such as TMP, thousands of individuals from around the country have the opportunity to compete in the Marine Corps Marathon (MCM) while raising funds in support of a personal cause. This year, TMP will have 50 bibs available to TMP participants.

"I have been married for 44 years to my wife Irene. We live in St. Louis, Missouri. We have one daughter and three grandchildren who all live in Gaithersburg, Maryland. I am a CPA by profession and one of the things I do to maintain my sanity is run. I get up every morning and before I eat breakfast or do anything else, I put on my running gear (which varies with the weather) and hit the road. I am currently on a consecutive day running streak of 9 years. Now this may seem like an obsession, but we all have them...running is just something I like to do. During this streak, I have completed over 14 marathons. I am not as fast as I was when I was younger, but with age we enjoy that wonderful invention—the age group—so occasionally I get an award even though a lot of younger people zip by me on the course."

OPSEC

OPSEC is keeping potential adversaries from discovering critical Department of Defense information. As the name suggests, it protects U.S. operations — planned, in progress and those completed. Success depends on secrecy and surprise, so the military can accomplish the mission more quickly and with less risk. Enemies of freedom want this information, and they are not just after the military member to get it. They want you, the family member.

Marine Parents Travel Assistance

The mission of our Travel Assistance program is to support Marine Corps recruits by assisting one of his/her family members who shows significant financial need, to attend boot camp graduation events so the Marine is not alone.

Month of the Military Child

Established in 1986 by then-Defense Secretary Caspar Weinberger, April is the Month of the Military Child. April is not only a month to be aware of what these children are sacrificing, it's a time to say and show thanks.

"A generation of children has witnessed first-hand the physical and emotional effects of war. Their childhood has seen more stress, anxiety, frustration, and heartache than most of us will see in our lifetimes... And like their caregiver moms and dads, these hidden helpers are proud to be a part of their family, but the load they carry is heavier than our nation should let them bear." - Senator Elizabeth Dole
