A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Dear Families,

As the colors of fall settle in and we enjoy the cooler days of October, I want to take a moment to thank you for your continued partnership in your child’s education. This month is full of important events and milestones that reflect the progress we’ve made together so far this school year.

Establishing Strong Routines

Throughout the first quarter, our staff and students have been working hard to build consistent classroom routines and expectations. These routines are essential in helping students feel safe, confident, and ready to learn each day. Whether it's morning procedures, transitions between activities, or practicing respectful behavior, we are seeing great progress. Thank you for reinforcing these routines at home—it truly makes a difference!

Parent-Teacher Conferences – October 28 & 30

We are looking forward to welcoming you to our fall Parent-Teacher Conferences on October 28 and 30. These meetings are a valuable opportunity for you to connect with your child’s teacher, hear about the progress being made, and collaborate on goals for the coming months. We strongly encourage every family to attend. Your involvement makes a big difference!

No School – October 31 (Professional Learning Day)

Please remember that there will be no school for students on Thursday, October 31. Our teachers and staff will be participating in a Professional Learning Day focused on enhancing instructional strategies and ensuring we continue to meet the needs of all learners.

Halloween

We are excited to celebrate Halloween at Marinette Primary School! Students are welcome to wear costumes for our festivities on Thursday, October 30, since there is no school for students on October 31. We can’t wait to see their creativity! To help make the day fun and safe, please keep the following in mind:

  • Costumes must be school-appropriate.
  • No weapons or face paint are allowed.
  • Costumes should allow students to use the bathroom independently.
  • Students may wear their costumes to school or bring them to change into later.
  • Please send along an extra set of clothing, just in case your child decides to change out of their costume.

Classroom teachers will be reaching out soon with more details about the fun activities and tasty snacks happening in their rooms.

As always, thank you for your support and engagement. October is a busy and exciting time, and we’re grateful to be on this journey with you. Please reach out if you have any questions or need help scheduling your conference time.

Birthday Treats

Please be sure to notify your classroom teacher in advance if you will be sending a birthday treat for your child's class. Birthday treats should be purchased from a retailer. Treats should also be nut free as we have many students with nut allergies. Thank you!

Would you like to help support our students? We will have many opportunities for volunteering throughout the upcoming school year. We are looking for individuals to read to students, assist with classroom events, as well as field trips, and PTO. All volunteers need to be enrolled. If you are interested in volunteering, please visit our Secure Volunteer Site and apply today.
