Attendance Policy
The Marinette School District expects 100% attendance for all students in accordance with the laws of Wisconsin. Parents are only allowed by state law to excuse their children for up to 10 days per school year.
*Excused Absence: Illness, doctor appointment, accident or death in the family.. Parents must call the school by 9:00 a.m. each day of an absence. A written notice of excuse must be given to the school upon return. If the student is out for an appointment, a doctor's note is required.
*Tardiness: A student who arrives after 8:05 am will be considered tardy and must be signed in by a parent/guardian. Students who arrive after 10:00 a.m. will be considered absent for the morning.
*Request for Early Dismissal: Parents/guardians requesting to pick up a child early for any reason must call the school building prior to picking up the child early. If a student leaves early prior to 2:00 p.m. it will be considered a half day absence. Parents may also contact your child's teacher through SeeSaw.
*Unexcused absences: Unexcused absences constitute truancy. Five unexcused absences is considered habitual truancy by state law.
