Lakeside Chamber of Commerce Mission Statement: The Lakeside Chamber of Commerce is organized for the purpose of developing, promoting, and protecting the commercial, industrial, professional, agricultural, and civic interests of Lakeside and its surrounding area. The Chamber also acts as a clearing house of information, disseminating such information among members of the Chamber and the Lakeside community.

Spring is in the air, and here at the office we can already feel the excitement building as we prepare for the 61st Annual Western Days Parade coming to Lakeside on Saturday, April 25th.

Our team has been hard at work behind the scenes organizing this year’s parade, and the anticipation is growing each day. Western Days is more than just a parade, it’s a celebration of Lakeside’s heritage, community spirit, and the neighbors and organizations that make Lakeside so special. From local businesses and schools to community groups and families, the parade brings everyone together for a day filled with pride, fun, and hometown tradition.

We invite you to be part of the celebration! Parade registration is now open on our website, and we encourage businesses, organizations, clubs, and individuals to sign up and join the festivities. Whether you plan to enter a float, ride on horseback, march with your group, or simply cheer along the route, your participation helps make this event memorable for the entire community.

We can’t wait to see our community come together once again for this incredible event. Mark your calendars for April 25th, we’ll see you at the parade!

Energy bill assistance programs: Help is available

Managing energy bills can be challenging in cold weather. But did you know that SDG&E offers several assistance programs to help customers reduce their energy costs and improve energy efficiency?

1.   California Alternate Rates for Energy (CARE) Program

The CARE program provides a 30% or more discount on monthly energy bills for eligible households. Eligibility is based on household size and income, or participation in certain public assistance programs. Applying is quick and easy, with no documentation required. Find out if you qualify at sdge.com/CARE.

2.   Family Electric Rate Assistance (FERA) Program

FERA offers an 18% discount on electric bills for households with three or more people who exceed CARE income limits but still meet FERA guidelines. This program helps larger families manage their energy expenses more effectively. Learn more at sdge.com/FERA.

3.   Energy Savings Assistance (ESA) Program

The ESA program provides no-cost energy-efficient home improvements to income-qualified customers. Services and products may include attic insulation, energy-efficient refrigerators, weatherstripping and more. The program aims to reduce energy use and help lower bills. Find details at sdge.com/ESA.

4.   Medical Baseline Allowance

Customers with certain medical conditions may qualify for additional energy at the lowest rates through the Medical Baseline Allowance program. This helps offset the cost of operating medical equipment or maintaining necessary heating and cooling. Learn more at sdge.com/Medical.

5.   Payment Arrangements

If you’re having trouble paying your energy bill, you can request an extension to help avoid interruptions to your service. Flexible payment arrangements are also available to help you pay down past due balances. Learn more at sdge.com/PaymentArrangements.
