Everything In Between

Hey Trinity,

It has been a wonderful two months of 2025 at Trinity UMC! We are celebrating the year of jubilee, the year in which we are called to Greater Things!

I appreciate everyone who helped make The Challenge weekend such a success. On Wednesday, we begin the season of Lent with the service of Ash Wednesday. Lent is a season of reflection on the sacrifice that Christ made for us and a time in which we prepare for the celebration of Easter. We mourn that Jesus had to die on the cross, but we also prepare for the celebration of his power over sin and death, which is the Easter season. I encourage you to take up an intentional spiritual practice during the season of Lent, whether it be ten minutes of prayer or daily reading of scripture, spend time with the Lord during these 40 days, and allow space for God to speak to you. The Holy Spirit is moving in our church, and I pray that we can grow in our faith together during this season of Lent.

God Bless,

Rev. Christina Shaver

Hope from Ashes, a Lenten journey!

A churchwide daily devotional invitation

Hope from ashes is a collection of daily devotionals intended to deepen your experience of the season of Lent. Starting Ash Wednesday, March 5th, Hope from Ashes has small devotion each day until Easter that will inspire you and enhance your understanding of the cross and the sacrifice of Christ.

The daily readings are provided by the Revised Common Lectionary. These Scriptures provide the backbone of Hope from Ashes. The devotional materials deal with one or more of the day’s readings.

Pastor Christina and I invite you to start this daily journey with us. Let us meet with God each day and pray the Holy Spirit uses what we learn to be in our conversations each moment we meet. There will be printed copies available in the Narthex and Square One table, a PDF copy on our website, and a link to participate online: https://www.huntingdon.edu/about-huntingdon-college/church-relations/

Be blessed this season!

We will be celebrating by having a combined service on Wednesday, March 5, at 6:00 p.m. in our Sanctuary for a combined worship service where you'll be able to receive the ashes and pray with members of our congregation.
