UAPB Will Honor its Fall 2025 Graduates at the 172nd Commencement


The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) will host its 172nd commencement ceremony on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at the Pine Bluff Convention Center, located at 1 Convention Center Plaza. The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m., with the processional starting at 9:45 a.m. UAPB is thrilled to celebrate the accomplishments of its graduates and the resilience they demonstrated throughout their academic journey. UAPB Students Attend 12th Annual National HBCU Pre-Law Summit in Atlanta, Georgia


For the first time in nearly a decade, five students from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) attended the 12th Annual National HBCU Pre-Law Summit, held in Atlanta, Georgia. The event, founded by attorney and educator Evangeline M. Mitchell, Esq., Ed.M., is the nation’s only pre-law event dedicated exclusively to empowering HBCU students interested in pursuing careers in law, according to its website. Click to learn more

November 30 marked a historic day for the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) as two iconic figures in Golden Lion athletics, former head football coach Lee A. Hardman Sr. and current head women’s basketball coach Erica Smith (Taylor) Leak, were named to the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2026. The distinguished duo, whose careers span generations and embody excellence across Arkansas athletics, now take their place among the state’s most celebrated coaches, athletes, and leaders, underscoring the importance of this achievement for UAPB and the community. UAPB Chancellor Graham Stresses “Focus” as the Keynote at the Alpha’s 119th Founders’ Day Program


Dr. Anthony Graham, Chancellor of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB), stressed the importance of avoiding distractions and staying focused. He was the keynote speaker on Thursday night during the 119th Founders’ Day Celebration of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, Delta Sigma Lambda and Gamma Delta Chapters. The event took place at Barraque Street Missionary Baptist Church in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

FAFSA for 2026-27 Now Available!

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2026-27 academic year is now live. Filing the FAFSA is the gateway to the largest source of funding for higher education, including federal grants, loans and work-study. It’s also required for most state and institutional aid, even for families who don’t think they’ll qualify. 


All U.S. citizen college students are required to complete the FAFSA each year.

UAPB’s Fall 2025 Dallas Career Tour Expands Horizons for Student-Athletes

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) Student-Athlete Development Office hosted the Fall 2025 Student-Athlete Development Career Tour in Dallas, Texas, on November 18–19, 2025. Ten UAPB student-athletes participated in this two-day experiential learning opportunity designed to broaden their professional knowledge and industry exposure beyond athletics, showcasing the program’s effectiveness in preparing students for diverse careers and encouraging continued support.

For years, Eugene Sinclair heard about his family’s land in Columbia County, Arkansas – a property steeped in family legacy. However, the fact that he grew up and lived in Florida, as well as the demands of his job as a supervisor for a residential facility serving people with mental health challenges and substance abuse disorders, made it difficult for him to ever actually visit the land.
