We are thrilled to bring this latest exhibition to STUDIO ONE. In the words of artist Elise Lyon, "Heirlooms plays between the lines of the physical and metaphysical world. The property has now been foreclosed and is back on the auction block. Join Save our Community Center (SOCC-64), elected officials, community organizations, artists and supporters to demand the City return CHARAS to the community!
Rabble Rousers:
Frances Goldin and the Fight for Cooper Square
March 24-26
If you need a reminder of the power of organizing, you must see a new documentary about Cooper Square Committee’s successful fight against Planning Czar Robert Moses’ blight removal plan for our community, and the long battle that ensued to make our vision for the Cooper Square area a reality.

This documentary takes you from Cooper Square Committee’s founding in 1959, led by the late great Frances Goldin, through the creation of the Cooper Square Mutual Housing Association in the 1990s, and the cooperative conversion which became a reality in 2012. The documentary contains archival footage, and interviews with many of the key players in this struggle. It will be shown at DC TV at 87 Lafayette Street in Lower Manhattan on March 24th, 25th, and 26th.

Seating is limited.
