Mark your calendars for this year's Georgia Disability History Symposium that will be held in Athens, Georgia on October 15th. This year we have the honor of welcoming Samuel and Dan Habib as our keynote speakers. These award-winning film makers are known for films on disability-related topics including Intelligent Lives, Including Samuel, and My Disability Roadmap. In preparation for their presentation, we strongly encourage you to watch the premiere of their newest documentary, The Ride Ahead on PBS. The film on PBS begins streaming as part of their POV series on Monday, July 21, 2025, at 10 PM.
This deeply personal and powerful documentary follows Samuel Habib, a 21-year-old who navigates the complex journey to adulthood as a person with a disability. The film beautifully captures how Samuel and his community work together to help him achieve his dreams of independence, career, and love.
