Astrological Highlights for the week: Mercury goes deep with Neptune on Tuesday; New Moon in Aries on Friday; and Mercury finds a willing partner for collaboration with Saturn on Sunday.

The New Moon in willful, youthful and excitable Aries comes early on Friday morning, less than two hours after midnight (Pacific Time). All New Moons carry the pure essence of the Astrological Sign including the attributes of the Element and the requirements of the Modality. Aries is fast moving, unpredictable, and inspiring Fire and is an assertive (some say aggressive!) Cardinal Sign. This is the motivating and initiating power of spring, the willfulness that allows flower bulbs to move through the frozen winter soil and for trees to push out new leaves.

As the baby of the zodiac, Aries can be both child-like and childish. This New Moon chart underscores even more than usual the exuberance and frustration of being the newbie. The Sun and Moon in Aries are ready to charge forward tackling any challenge, climbing every mountain, and anxious to prove fearlessness and the ability to dominate the world. But there is a problem, or rather a factor, we all need to respect. Saturn over in Capricorn is preaching slow, restrained and controlled behavior and change. He is reinforced by both the South Node and Pluto also in deliberate Capricorn. As another Cardinal sign, Capricorn is Aries match in terms of ability to be aggressive in the pursuit of goals.

As the New Moon right out of the gate forms restrictive squares to Saturn, and by association, to the South Node, and Pluto, we recognize the need for moderation, restraint and self-control. None of these are Aries’ favorite words or concepts! We might expect some initial frustration or even anger if we feel like we are being controlled or thwarted in our plans. However, like the fable of the tortoise and the hare, slow and steady wins the race. Big goals require equally big strategies and cohesive plans – plans that need to be carefully designed and tested. Just because we don’t see immediate results or applause, does not mean we are on the wrong path. Patience!

This New Moon can teach us how to channel high passion through efficient strategies. It can also teach us the value of self-awareness and conscious emotional expression. The space between the inexperienced newbie energy of Aries and the mature wisdom of Saturn in Capricorn is a long road. If we can figure out where we are on this continuum, it can provide an accurate road map for our next steps. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself throwing a temper tantrum at one moment and then playing the sensible and judicious adult in the next. It’s the game of life and we can have fun with it.

Following the New Moon in Aries on Friday we spend the weekend and the better part of Monday under the influence of a grounded Taurus Moon. But don’t forget, Uranus recently moved into Taurus. This usually sedate and determined energy is a bit rattled and frazzled. Going back to our roots and spending some time with simple pleasures and aligning with Mother Nature is a way to reconnect with ourselves. Celebrating Earth Day (technically April 22) can be a life-long love affair with positive rewards personally and globally.
Mercury’s retrograde motion finished last week, but there are some unfinished details yet to come together. This week Mercury makes the third and final alignment with Neptune (Tuesday morning) and Saturn (Sunday morning). Elusive pieces of a puzzle may be slowly coming together for you. Don’t rush it. The details may still seem a little fuzzy, but overall, the fog is clearing and strategies are coming into focus. Try to remember you are never without guidance. We get confused when we look outside of ourselves for cues and omens. These may be helpful, but the relationship with our higher selves is always the one worth coming back to. I think Mercury in spiritual and mystical Pisces has been hammering this point home and will continue to point us in the right direction – inward.

Until next week, let go and wear loose clothes.

Moon in Aquarius/Pisces
All Fools' Day
Moon enters Pisces at 7:48am pdt
The Moon enters misty and mystical Pisces this morning and the ambience doesn’t get much dreamier and non-linear than this. We are in the final days of the Lunar cycle (New Moon on Friday) when more often than not, there is wistfulness in the air; and a feeling of “been there, done that’ is pervasive. Energetic Mars in chatty Gemini may be talking up a storm and yet even the most strident words may fail to motivate. In fact, we may just feel mildly annoyed if someone insists on trying to push or provoke us. Although we may be yearning for something to stir us to action, today and maybe even for a few days, the inspiration eludes us. The Moon’s alliance with unconventional Uranus could provide a spark, but it might be nothing more significant than the urge to try out a new restaurant for lunch.

In addition to being under the dreamy spell of a Pisces Moon today, Mercury, the planet of thinking and communication is also moving toward a rendezvous with Neptune (Pisces’ planetary ruler) a few hours after midnight. This is the third and final meeting between the two occurring as part of the Mercury retrograde pattern that just ended. Night time dreams and daylight visions may be very revealing and/or prophetic.

Although the energy today and over the next few days may seem chaotic, confusing, illusory, or upside down in some way, we may actually receive some important insights to guide us on the journey ahead. Pay attention to your dreams and intuitions and expected to be guided by your higher self through the pathways and channels that are most appropriate for you and the easiest to understand and accept.

Daily Muse: I've looked at life from both sides now from win and lose and still somehow, It's life's illusions I recall; I really don't know life at all. So many things I would have done, but clouds got in my way. (Joni Mitchell, Moon in Pisces.)

Moon in Pisces
Even though Mercury’s joining with compassionate, creative and otherworldly Neptune occurred just a few hours after midnight (Pacific Time) the waves of Piscean, imagination and confusion keep breaking on the shore of our minds and hearts throughout the day as the Moon in Pisces connects with Neptune and Mercury this evening acting like an echo or encore. Neptune/Pisces energy is associated with dreams, imagination, music, photography, movies, drugs, and alcohol. Although there is a very intuitive, creative, and spiritual component, we often feel like we are under the influence. It may not seem so much like drugs or alcohol but it can feel very hypnotic, mesmerizing, and dreamy, somewhat like sleep walking.

We may feel ourselves caught up in an unfolding drama – personal, global or both. A temporary escape may be tempting, but won’t be the final answer or solution. Maybe we can call in sick to work and go to the movies. It’s a temporary shift in focus, but eventually the film ends and we’ll have to return to the script we consider reality! The hot air balloon adventure that calls to us throughout the day will eventually be tethered with a grounding energy late this evening when the Moon aligns with sensible and responsible Saturn in its home sign of Capricorn. This helps center our thoughts and hearts as we head off to our beds and approach another night of dreaming under the mystical Pisces Moon.

Moon in Pisces/Aries

Moon goes Void of Course 8:36am enters Aries at 7:56pm pdt

Some have been enjoying the rich emotional depths of the Pisces Moon; but if you are one who feels like you have been wading through torrents of emotional downpours and in danger of losing your footing (or your mind) in this nebulous world, have faith! Keep your galoshes on through the day and you can kick them off tonight when the Moon enters fiery Aries. But be advised, a lunar square with optimistic Jupiter this morning could have us sliding a bit out of control.

The antidote or answer may lie in pulling back into our rational minds. Feelings are important, but they are not the whole picture by any means. In a new TV series, one of the main characters is a spy; but unlike the emotionally detached James Bond, this guy is portrayed not only as emotionally sensitive but even vulnerable following a love affair gone awry. His mantra is “I have my feelings; my feeling don’t have me.” His repeating this phrase provides for comedic relief, especially in juxtaposition to his stealing secret plans, blowing things up, and killing people.

We can use a little of this humor and rationality today. Recognize and express feelings but don’t let them run the show! Under the influence of the Pisces Moon we may have been seeing shadows and even misinterpreting their meaning. Anchor yourself with noble and worthy ideas and ask for help when you need it. A friend or trusted counselor may provide the wisdom to see more clearly.

Daily Muse: Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much-I would rather walk with a friend in the dark, than alone in the light. (Helen Keller – Moon in Pisces)

April 4
Moon in Aries
The mood shifts from dreams and fantasies to action with the Moon in courageous Aries. (Mars-ruled!) However, this is the last day of the Lunar cycle and this Moon is more like a wise and experienced veteran rather than an impulsive upstart looking for trouble. Nevertheless, Pluto the transformer visits the South Node of the Moon today. This mathematical calculation having to do with the orbits of the Sun and Moon may not be an actual physical thing, but is nevertheless a powerful Significator in astrology.

The South Node is portrayed like a horseshoe with the curved part at the bottom. Think of it as a bucket or place where we carry the past, and dare I say it? Our baggage. Past experience is useful if we learn the lesson and move on. If we don’t, it can begin to stink, like old trash. When anything keeps us from moving forward, Pluto is our friendly garbage man helping us release what needs to go.

This is a day for being objective and even ruthless at tossing out what needs to go. Trashing those Gummy Bears you stash for late night binging, or donating the skinny jeans from high school can be a symbolic and healthy gesture of your commitment to a healthy and non-judgmental self love and acceptance. Consider making at least one life-affirming commitment and find an appropriate symbol and take action today.

The New Moon in courageous and daring Aries less than two hours after midnight (Pacific Time) is calling us to new adventures. Use this day for closing a chapter, completing a task, and clearing the decks in preparation for something new.

Daily Muse: Everything you do today impacts the next day as well as the future. The fewer mistakes you make twice, the easier life is (Martina Navratilova – Moon in Aries)

New Moon 15ºAries 1:50am

If we can figure out where we are on this continuum, it can provide an accurate road map for our next steps. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself throwing a temper tantrum at one moment and then playing the sensible and judicious adult in the next. It’s the game of life and we can have fun with it.

Tonight after we have cleared the emotional and psychological hurdles of the day, the Moon slips into a cheerful alignment with Jupiter once again opening up the distant vistas helping us view the bigger picture and a brighter tomorrow.

Moon in Aries/Taurus
Moon enters Taurus at 6:06am pdt
We may be doing a slow burn if things didn’t move quickly enough for us yesterday. And why do I have a feeling they didn’t? No worries. The Moon steps into stable and patient Taurus today; but wait; unpredictable Uranus is sitting just inside the garden gate. This disruptive and unexpected energy is antithetical to the Taurean preference for predictability. Welcome to life on planet Earth!

This disorderly energy may be disturbing but don’t be too quick to judge the results. I’m sure the earth worms are a bit alarmed when we haul out the Rototiller, shovels, and rakes to do our garden preparations. Yep, sometimes we have to create a bit of chaos in order to get to the final goal. Instead of focusing on the bits and pieces, keep the big picture in mind and appreciate how things will fit together in the end.

As always with Taurus, grounding ourselves by being good to our bodies sets the stage for success. Take time for a nourishing meal or two and adjust your schedule to the pace of the day. If you can fit in a nap or a few minutes of relaxation, all the better. If you look to nature, what cues will you take away about how to live your life? There is wisdom in eating local foods and being in alignment with natural forces. Look for ways to harmonize with the weather, creature beings, and landscape of your current environment.

Late tonight, (technically early Sunday morning) Mercury makes its third and final hookup with Saturn. This stabilizing energy helps us perfect a plan or put the finishing touches on an idea. Throughout the day keeping our ultimate goals in mind help diminish the significance of distractions or temporary detours that lure us off our game.

Daily Muse: Surrealism is destructive, but it destroys only what it considers to be shackles limiting our vision. (Salvador Dali – Moon in Aries)

April 7
Moon in Taurus
Mercury’s final meeting with pragmatic Saturn occurs in the early morning hours. If a plan seems to come together in your dreams or in a late night brainstorming session, lucky you!

The Moon in Taurus is closely aligned with Mother Nature reminding us of our roots. Lunar alliances with Venus and Neptune bring to mind the sacredness of our connection with nature. If you feel like you have lost your way or things are confusing or overwhelming, this is a message to slow down and smell the roses, compost, or what have you. This is a great day to spend time outdoors and ground ourselves with simple and traditional activities and rituals such as prepping a garden bed, taking care of plants and animals, basking in a stream of sunlight, or cooking something from scratch. Recycling, composting, and other activities honoring our use of resources is also favored.

Tonight the Moon makes positive connections to Saturn and Mercury keeping the slow and steady theme going. Sometimes when we feel like the truth is elusive, we simply need to slow down and catch our breath. The Taurus Moon asks us to be aware of our physical needs and responses and to make conscious choices deepening our understanding of our relationship of being connected with others and with the planet.

Daily Muse: I always wondered why somebody didn't do something about that. And then I realized I was somebody. (Lily Tomlin – Moon in Aries)

Kindred Spirits Energy Oracle has been in my head for a decade. I have spent hundreds of hours writing, thinking, planning, and designing the cards. The artwork is Fractal Art. Fractals are mathematical equations that create geometric forms. They are the closest visual representation to what energy looks like to me. I have been reading energy bodies, energy connections and the energy of situations all my life. Putting what I see into words and images is challenging. English does not have the words to describe what energy looks like in my head. Fractals have helped me express the way I see energy.
I spent some time at our local Social Security office recently. I walked into the room, only to discover over 100 people waiting to be served. I took my ticket and looked for a seat.

There were 15 rows, each one with 6 folding chairs. There were chairs against the walls and a lot of people standing up. I walked toward the back of the room and found a place to sit. The people in the row looked at me with those eyes, you know the ones I mean, almost pleading for me to sit anywhere else. Reluctantly, the young man on the end sat up straight so I could get by him, and I plopped myself down, next to a chair with a purse on it. The gentleman sitting next to the purse gave me a nervous look. I smiled. He paused for a second and left the purse on the chair, watching me carefully.

A couple of minutes later, I realized that the bag belonged to his wife, as she returned with their daughter of about 2. The little girl couldn't take her eyes off of me, neither could the mother for that matter. I smiled, the little girl stared, and her mother carefully sat down next to me where the purse had once been. The child reached out and poked my leg as if trying to see if I were real, or something out of a strange dream. The couple stared straight ahead.

I questioned my sanity for dressing as if I were heading into the polar vortex. From the middle of September until sometime in April, I wear a T-shirt, a waffle shirt over that, and to top things off, a flannel, fleece lined, quilted shirt. To be perfectly honest, I mainly wear it for the pockets. If I could get away with wearing a utility belt like Batman's, I'd be a happy camper. I love pockets and carry things with me in those pockets. At that moment, I realized the price of having that convenience, because if it were a degree less than 94 in that room, I'd be surprised.

There were multiple ethnicities, races, religions, and socioeconomic backgrounds represented. I could smell the spices of cooking from several different cuisines. I concentrated on trying to figure out what was what. I then caught a whiff of my neighbor's perfume. I'd smelled it as a kid, in a small container on my mom’s dresser. It always made me queasy. It comes in the form of a paste and is common in the Middle East. Imagine the smell of every flower on the planet being crammed into one square inch of space, mix it with a little cumin, and there you have it.

I was overcome by the sheer intensity of the perfume but didn't want to offend the woman by standing up and moving. Meanwhile, the little girl came over and began glaring at me. She then slugged me in the knee. Her mother told her to knock it off and the girl hurled herself to the floor in a way that only young children can do without breaking a bone. She then began kicking and screaming at such a high pitch that I expected to hear bats crashing into the windows, except there were no windows.

Thankfully, as time went on, seats around me opened up. More than one person walked by and opted to keep going. That's when I realized, no one wanted to sit next to me. I have a pair of scuffed up old shoes that I love to wear. I have nice shoes too, so as not to embarrass my wife, but I had the other pair on. No one seemed to care, though. I wondered if it was due to my being dressed for igloo building, but I wasn’t the only one overdressed. Then the answer came to me. I was using my mala. For some, sitting near someone who's running beads seems risky.

I was finally called to a window, took care of my business and left, the last customer of the day. As I walked outside, I could see a storm front moving in. The sky was absolutely stunning, and I thought to myself, "Remember this moment. Remember this afternoon."

A lot of thoughts were going through my mind, not the least of which was that I’d just been in a room packed with people from many diverse backgrounds and beliefs. Everyone was tired of waiting, and all were anxious to leave, yet everyone was calm. There wasn't a raised voice the entire time I was there, and everyone was civil and polite. There was something about the experience that rejuvenated my faith in humanity. At that moment, I felt gratitude that I’m a part of something big. All of us are a part of something massive and inherently good.

Thank you for walking on this path with me. Being a part of your journey is wonderful. You are indeed a valued part of mine. Don’t lose faith in people. Don’t lose faith in us.

Until next week, I wish you all peace and love.
Take a look at our manifesto. Click picture to enlarge!
Life sometimes shifts when we least expect it to. Do you ever feel like you are dancing to repeating rhythms and melodies, songs that haunt you and at times retreat into the dark? And then suddenly, without fuss, you find yourself at that wondrous crossroads of wisdom and desire where spirit speaks to you. A place so sensual and seductive that you have no choice but to let your soul awaken and dance to a different beat?

Perhaps this is the gift of spring, the rebirth of our mojo, our “muchness” as the Mad Hatter said to Alice. As the days grow longer and the cold retreats we explore a world full of options and opportunities. We shake off the illusions and scars that never defined us and make choices based on desire and wisdom, an unbeatable combination. Winter warns us that the world is dangerous and cold, but spring invites us to dive into our desires with passion and laughter and a bit of grace. Maybe it is the wind that blows through our now open windows or the scent of wildflowers that distract us from our fears. All we know is that life is calling and we must answer.

The crossroads is a meeting place where the voice of the universe speaks to us, reminding us that we will never really lose our craving for life and the touch of wildness on our hearts. Wisdom and desire are intertwined and promise to be our guides. This is where I have found myself, dancing at the crossroads with just enough fear to know that an adventure awaits. Perhaps it is the trip I am planning, or maybe it is love just beyond the bend in the path. Or best of all, perhaps I am about to meet my own powerful self, a part of me I was afraid had frozen in the past. If I am truly lucky, it will be all of these and more.

Do you feel the adventure of life calling to you? It does not take much to respond. Open the door and put your feet on a trail or a beach, or perhaps a dance floor.

Spread your arms and twirl in the sunshine, letting your hair tangle and swirl. Stop guarding your heart and start embracing love. Everything you desire is here because you are standing where desire and wisdom, love and passion, clarity and sensuality meet.
Chiron in Aries: Time to Thrive!

We are OUT of the Supermoon and Mercury Retrograde, and ready to move forward!

It's a bubbling energy of excitement, thrill and determination we should expect from Aries Season... but feeling an extra fiery push? Well that, ladies and gentlemen, is Chiron moving out of Pisces and into Aries.

If you noticed over the last few months and years, everything has turned emotional. Not that the media was ever fully factual, but we saw a shift from the news just being the news, to sensationalized news! We have TMZ, celebrity gossip as well as spiritual and paranormal focus. It seems like overnight, the world changed. Health stores now outshine the regular grocery stories and everyone knows what celery juice is used for.

Essential oils, crystals, mythical paths galore! Pisces, the oh-so loving, spiritual and emotional sign was teaching us about acceptance and using these metaphysical modalities for healing. But right as Chiron was on the verge of moving into Aries, we found these two signs clashing. Most evidently to the strong Blue Liberal left and conservative Red Right we are seeing play out in American politics. We have these two forces pulling at either side and we are struggling to find our balance between acceptance and action.

Now we are going to feel that push even further! Chiron has moved out of Pisces and is lit on fire with Aries energy. This means, loads of abrasive action. Just like every sign carries it's good and bad, Aries has a little of both. It is our job individually and culturally to find a healthy balance. Aries is wonderful for it's ability to get us moving out of acceptance and into action (both being essential). It motivates us to not sit back, but get what we want!

The challenge in the future, for us, will be about doing so healthily. Whenever ANY sign gets reactive... they also get really childish and act on survival, rather than rational thought. We get a bit primitive and do something out of fight or flight; we don't have to do that now!

Chiron in Pisces brought so much beautiful wisdom and connection to our spirituality. This is the time to not rely on our laurels, but also to not forget them altogether. We must realize Chiron in Aries is here to move us, 2019 being a transitional year, in a new physical direction. We have to remember that Aries also represents some masculine energy that can be wounded in our society. Just because women are rising up does not mean men have to be beaten down (and vice versa). Finding our balance, means, we do this TOGETHER. We encourage, support and fight for one another in a loving, compassionate and powerful way.

This absolutely will be one of the greatest moments in our lives where everything changes and even becomes a bit nostalgic. If you have missed live events and feel overwhelmed by the media and online streaming services; this is your moment! Sports, community activities and outdoor events will be on the rise. This is a time to totally champion your inner most desires and goals. This is the time to expect the best, and get it!
