The Week Ahead

Astrological Highlights for the week: Neptune stations direct on Saturday
Mercury the planet of thinking and communication makes some important planetary interactions this week, which could prove interesting in our current world of distraction where anyone who can type seems to find an audience. Maybe that’s not such a bad thing, but I for one am getting dizzy from the disparate stories that all seem to pass for truth. I’ve been thinking a lot about this lately and not coming to any earth shattering revelations. Guess I will keep thinking on it.
I’d like to share a personal story, one that I have been debating putting in print. Have decided it might be revelatory so here goes. On September 5th my sister fell down a flight of stairs and went head first into a piece of rod-iron furniture. Needless to say the furniture was not forgiving. She sustained a fractured arm, and multiple facial fractures including smashing multiple bones supporting her right eye. Worst of all, she sustained a moderate to severe brain injury which resulted in multiple weeks of unconsciousness. The arm and eye have been surgically repaired but full function and recovery is yet to be determined. Thankfully she did not require brain surgery; the bleeding stopped on its own, although the extent of permanent damage is still unknown.
As many of you know, brain injury recovery is a fickle thing. Everyone is different. Although there are some norms and expectations, each person is on their own path to a new norm, never to be the same again. During her two months of hospitalization (she was released earlier this month) I experienced the usual trauma and ups and downs but also some interesting insights.
As part of her natural course of recovery, when my sister started emerging from unconsciousness, she was hallucinating and delusional. This was particularly scary as doctors couldn’t say how long this stage would last or reassure us it would end. There were some lighter moments as she started talking and demanded the resignation of almost every doctor, nurse, aide, or professional who walked in her room. She was intent on firing everyone who didn’t do her bidding including me. And of course pleasing her was impossible as she insisted the delusions she was experiencing were real.
Now for the revelations. As she continues to improve, she is better able to discern what is real and what is delusional. She has a better grasp on what is reasonable and what’s not. I started to notice an interesting phenomenon. When she said something that totally didn’t make sense, she would often stop and ask me if this was part of her “dream”. It’s incredibly frustrating to her to know that some of what she believes, sees, or remembers is what she calls a “dream” and not real at all. It started to dawn on me, what a helpful attitude this is – understanding that what we think is true, may not be.
Ironically, she makes more sense than a lot of people I converse with on a regular basis! Her willingness to question the validity of her “truth” is a huge advantage and one that I am trying to emulate. If she was stuck in a delusional place and unwilling to question, I can’t imagine how hard the road would be for her and for others in her orbit.
The second thing I observed, and also a huge component of successful recovery is her embrace of three words, “I need help.” This may sound obvious but it’s not; not in my world anyway. Unwillingness to accept our weaknesses and deficiencies and ask for assistance keeps us disabled – in one way or another. If she had insisted on the veracity of her delusions and insisted as well on her ability to be independent, we’d have a big problem on our hands. In fact, as a family we had already accepted the idea she may be institutionalized in one way or another for the rest of her life; and she is only 49 years old.
At this time we are taking turns and being creative in assisting her in a home setting. We are not sure what the future holds, but feel confident that if she keeps improving we can keep her in a home situation. But, I would insist this has only been possible because of the two things mentioned above – her willingness to question her reality and to accept help. I know I am not good at either of these two things and wondering why I am so resistant and slow!
This Thanksgiving I am grateful for these two lessons and commit to exploring how these two ideas – questioning my dream reality, and acknowledging my interdependence on others can benefit my life and the lives of others.
As we approach the holidays of 2020 there is much to bitch and moan about; but how much more to appreciate? Yes, I am ready to give this year the boot; but meanwhile, like you and with you, I’ll keep putting one foot in front of the other and focusing on connecting to what is real and enduring in this world of dreams and delusions.
Stay INFORMED, Stay SAFE, and Spread HOPE
Until next week, let go and wear loose clothes.

Moon in Pisces
For those who are ready to put aside divisiveness and soften some hard edges, you are in luck today. If you favor conspiracy theories, you also might enjoy today’s energy. The Cosmos is weaving a picture predominated with the spiritual and imaginative essences of Neptune and Neptune’s home sign of Pisces.
The Moon in psychic and sensitive Pisces makes an early morning date with Mercury in Scorpio infusing our thinking and conversations with the spirit of forgiveness. A lunar merger with Neptune increases our receptivity and sensitivity. Neptune is the planet that resonates with our ability to transcend – to go beyond – our accepted limits. But unlike Uranus the rebel, which tends to shatter boundaries, Neptune dissolves barriers and erases borders. Oftentimes these are psychological or spiritual restrictions we have created or accepted. This is an opportunity to experience a reflection of Oneness through feelings of compassion, kindness and forgiveness. We have multiple opportunities; you might say a cosmic directive, to let our higher selves shine through today.
This evening, the Pisces Moon is energized by a favorable connection to Pluto in Capricorn. As the planet of transformation, the theme of deleting and releasing negative thoughts and feelings is repeated. And just in case we aren’t paying attention, Mercury makes a powerful trine to Neptune mid-evening quickly followed by the Moon’s sweet hookup with Jupiter. This energy is not only powerfully creative but also healing and uplifting. We not only envision opportunities, Jupiter encourages us to find ways to take action. This can be communication energy at its best.
Today is tailor-made for heartfelt discussions starting early this morning with the Moon connecting with Mercury and extending through the evening as Mercury aligns with Neptune. It can be a conversation with another person, with your past or future self, or with your higher source. Neptune knows no material boundaries!
In all fairness, because of the increased sensitivity of Pisces, when the Moon is in this sign we can go overboard with our feelings diving very low or ascending to the heights. A Hallmark movie or advertisement for an animal shelter can send us into a crying jag. We might feel acutely aware of our perceived failings or those of others; which is why this is the perfect time to reach within and find our most kind, loving, gentle, and brilliant selves. The path to forgiveness and healing may seem a long and arduous one; but it doesn’t have to be. The most important first step is realizing “I don’t like how I feel now.” We don’t need to know how to fix it. Our higher selves will smile gently and show us the way. With all this other-worldly energy predominating today, we may experience a miracle or two.

Moon in Pisces/Aries
Moon Goes Void of Course 2:44am enters Aries 7:05am
The Moon jumps into fiery Aries first thing this morning and takes the emotional energy in an entirely different direction. Like yesterday, we are likely to experience emotional intensity, but today we are not in such an agreeable or forgiving state of mind. Independent Aries is looking for personal satisfaction and can easily push aside the intangible benefits of relationship and community in favor of pursuing individual goals. Rashness is a potential side effect of spontaneity. Patience is not an Arian quality.
Anger and frustration may flare up this morning when we least expect it. We need to be careful not to sabotage ourselves in a misguided attempt to stand our ground or punish another for a perceived slight or betrayal. It’s easy to over react especially when we don’t have all the facts. But even if we do know the truth of a situation, we are tempted to take things personally when remaining objective would be the better course.
Keep your eye on the exit if you feel a blowup building. Take some time for yourself and keep breathing. Fire energy is best expressed through action. Movement – walking, running, swimming, sports – is usually a good way to expend energy productively and also gives us a chance to process our feelings. This afternoon, the Moon’s positive link to the Sun in optimistic Sagittarius further suggests we look for an adventure rather than brooding.

Moon in Aries
We may do our best work and be most productive today by traveling alone. It’s not a mandate of course, but with the Moon in headstrong Aries and meeting up with Mars, also in Aries, we are energized to follow our own agenda. This may translate into a desire to break the rules, especially when it comes to safety precautions around the Covid Pandemic. Amidst a plethora of misleading or simply confusing information it’s challenging to follow recommendations if we feel we have been duped in the past. We are more inclined to trust our own judgment, not only about health safety, but around other issues too.
Putting on my health professional hat – I worked in health care research and in hospitals for over 30 years – I respectfully ask you to err on the side of caution. The high energy of the Moon and Mars together in Aries is heady and enticing, but not always smart. Venus is also making an uncomfortable connection to Chiron today that provokes feelings of dependence and vulnerability. Believing our actions and behaviors don’t affect others is just plain silly. It’s also reckless to live for today with no thought to tomorrow.
Coming full circle we have plenty of energy today and it is a good time to get things accomplished. Time and weather permitting get physical. Anything that takes muscle and initiative is fair play including yard work, cleaning house, and prepping your favorite dishes for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Daily Muse: As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them. (John F. Kennedy)
Moon in Aries/Taurus
Moon Goes Void of Course 3:46pm enters Taurus 7:43pm
The Moon in pioneering Aries isn’t exactly ready to cool its jets, and yet there is a definite shift in the energy. There is less anger and frustration and an increasing yearning for challenge and fun. Lunar confrontations with Pluto, Jupiter, and Saturn in immovable Capricorn, at first look like an emotional mine field. And yet, there is greater maturity in our attitudes today as we find each of these conflicts as an opportunity for creativity. The Sun in buoyant Sagittarius has a knack for finding the silver lining in every dark cloud.
The Aries Moon is often a secret adrenaline junkie. The more conflict or challenge the better! There is nothing worse than a boring and routine day. Can’t participate in the huge family gathering? No problem, we’ll adapt. Maybe we’ll indulge in our favorite holiday movies or binge on a new miniseries or check out the Alfred Hitchcock marathon on Turner Classic Movies (12 Movies starting this evening!) Forgot to buy the crust for the holiday pie? No problem, gingersnaps, sugar and a little butter will make an excellent foundation for the pumpkin pie.
An Aries Moon thrives on spontaneity and the opportunity to prove iteself against a challenge. No matter what your day holds, embrace Aries and don’t bow down to defeat. Pretend you are on a new reality show – The Thanksgiving Challenge. Face every turn in the road with enthusiasm, expectation, creativity and courage.
Mid-evening our exhaustion will be well deserved. As the Moon heads for resourceful Taurus, it’s ok to reach for sensual comforts – whatever tickles your fancy.
Very early tomorrow morning (2:36 am Pacific Time) Mercury in Scorpio links with Pluto in Capricorn. If you are up for a late night chat extending into morning, things could get very interesting indeed. This is a sobering but equally stimulating energy as the intrigues of life are discussed and laid bare. Puzzles, riddles, secrets, and mysteries appeal to you night owls and others awake in the wee hours of the night. (No wonder TCM is running a Hitchcock movie through the night!)
Daily Muse: Now is no time to think of what you do not have. Think of what you can do with what there is. (Ernest Hemingway, The Old Man and the Sea)
Moon in Taurus
Although we don’t usually think of Taurus Moons as being adventurous or risk-taking, today there is plenty of reason to change our minds on this topic. This morning, Venus in Scorpio opposes radical Uranus in Taurus. As the Moon conspires with Uranus mid-day and opposes Venus minutes later, the thread of rebellion spins into an evolving story. We definitely want to step outside of any tightly constricting rules when it comes to love and money.
Be aware of this cosmic unrest especially when making decisions about relationships and finances. We might be a wee bit hasty or acting childish (not in a good way), or immature. Although it feels good in the moment to take a leap of faith, or make a wild and bold move, being naïve about the consequences of our actions doesn’t make us exempt. If you are feeling independent and experimental, I’d suggest trying out a new recipe, game, book, movie, or something with no long-term penalties.
When it comes to Black Friday sales, do your homework to avoid unpleasant and expensive surprises. Yes, we may luck into a bargain; but tomorrow’s energy feels more lucky than today. And for the weight conscious wanting to balance out those extra calories from yesterday, keep in mind the Moon is in food-loving Taurus. Don’t set yourself up for failure, but if you insist on starting your diet today, make sure it is satisfying and doesn’t leave you feeling empty. The Taurus Moon will not be happy!
Daily Muse: Vegetables are a must on a diet. I suggest carrot cake, zucchini bread, and pumpkin pie. (Jim Davis)
Moon in Taurus
Neptune moves Forward 4:37pm
The Moon in sensuous and comfort-seeking Taurus may be looking for something better than leftovers, but is certainly hoping the holiday spirit will extend through the day. Even so, Neptune the planet of transcendence is pulling our attention away from the physical and material today as it makes a sweet and inspirational connection with the Moon.
Neptune extends her status as planet of the day as it is relatively motionless in the astrological sky effectively ending a five month retrograde pattern. We’re not crazy if we think our intuition is sharper than usual and it’s easier to tune into higher vibrations of love and spiritual values. Although in truth, nebulous Neptune never plays by the rules of the physical universe, she is beyond that. Still many of us might find it easier to trust our intuition after an extended period of Neptune turning her attentions inward.
The emotional energy of the day generally feels more grounded and disciplined as the Moon connects with all those planets in earthy Capricorn – Pluto and Jupiter this evening, and Saturn before daybreak tomorrow. Thoughts and conversations are more grounded as well with Mercury in Scorpio aligning with Jupiter this evening. We are still feeling intuitive but welcome rational ideas and down-to-earth suggestions to round out and complete our thinking.
Daily Muse: Thanksgiving Day comes, by statute, once a year; to the honest man it comes as frequently as the heart of gratitude will allow. (Edward Sandford Martin)
Moon in Taurus/Gemini
Moon Goes Void of Course 4:48am enters Gemini 8;16am
Although there are no planetary interactions during daylight hours, the energy might feel a bit wonky nevertheless. Shortly after midnight the Sun in Sagittarius made an uncomfortable link with rebellious Uranus in Taurus. Despite a stabilizing connection between the Moon and disciplined Saturn in early morning, we might still be feeling like our footing is unsure. We might be feeling like something is missing. What flashes in my mind is the scene from Home Alone, when Kevin’s mother who should be comfortably relaxing in her first class airline seat on her way to Paris, keeps going over in her mind her checklist. Something is wrong or missing but she can’t figure out what. Suddenly mid-flight she startles forward in her seat and shouts “Kevin.”
Our revelation is not likely to be as startling as leaving a child home alone. However, our nerves may be equally on alert. Not too surprising, this year has been one for the record books! We can’t take things for granted as we are in the midst of some pretty profound structural and organizational changes in our world. Even so, we cannot live our lives constantly looking over our shoulders or wondering what is coming next. Finding a way to deal with stress and relax is vital to our happiness and health.
The Moon checks into Gemini this morning, where communication and networking with others thrives, but not just any communication. I subscribe to the idea that it’s Gemini’s destiny to play with words, ideas, and concepts. The power of information is profound. However, discerning the truth and not just learning to be influential or a propaganda spreader is true power. The Moon in Gemini learns an important lesson about telling the truth with Mercury (Gemini’s ruler) in thoughtful and transformational Scorpio. Today part of our lesson is learning to discern our own feelings and voicing the truth to ourselves.
PS – you’ll hear more about this in next week’s Power Peek but be advised. The Moon is Full in Gemini early tomorrow morning 1:30 am Pacific Time and it’s also a Lunar Eclipse with Mercury working in tandem with disciplined and no-nonsense Saturn in Capricorn. This could be an important turning point or revelation defining the stories we create and tell.
Daily Muse: My Thanksgiving is perpetual. It is surprising how contented one can be with nothing definite — only a sense of existence. (Henry David Thoreau)
I recently introduced a new computerized report called the Vocation Report. Not two weeks later I was introduced to a series of Numerology Reports by the amazing Hans Decoz. The fun thing about numerology is that it doesn't need a time of birth but it does need the name that is on your birth certificate no matter what it is now. These reports are detailed, fun and factual. They range from personality reports to in-depth compatibility reports, they even have one that is 9 years long!

I received last rites when I was 34 years old. Let me back up a bit.
I had gotten sick and completely ignored the symptoms. It was a nasty cough and I chugged cough syrup, but kept going. The cough hung on. Eventually I began to get worse and found myself so tired I couldn’t get out of bed. Upon going to the doctor, it was ascertained that I had pneumonia in one half of one lung. The doctor pumped me full of penicillin and sent me home. His diagnosis was off. I did have pneumonia, but I only had one half of a lung left with which to breathe. That night, coughing, feverish, alone, I saw a bright light at the end of my bed. My dad walked out of the light, dressed in a white suit, with an escalator behind him.
I thought, “How trite,” but I knew why he was there. I asked if he was really my dad, because he didn’t feel like him. He explained that he was not my father, but came in a form that I would accept and not fear. I asked if I absolutely had to go and he answered that it was up to me. I said I had much to do in my life yet and that my children needed me. He replied that the world would go on just fine without me and that my children would miss me, but would grow up to be good adults.“If you want to stay,” he said, “you have to do it for you and not for anyone else.” He once again gave me the option to get up and go with him. I declined and asked if I would see him again. He just smiled, winked at me and was gone.
The next day I was admitted into the hospital. I remember sitting on the edge of the bed and looking at my fingers. They were blue all the way to my knuckles. How sick was I? I soon found out when a priest walked in and asked if I wanted to receive last rites. I tried to say, “Can I start with first rites instead?” The words didn’t come out. I managed to croak, “Not Catholic.” The priest smiled and said I didn’t have to be. I could only shake my head yes. What could it hurt? The only thing I remember is that he held my hand for a long while.
Later that afternoon they brought my children in, presumably to say goodbye. I’ll never forget the look in their eyes as they stood at the foot of my bed. I drank them in as much as I could. There’s much more to that first night, but it feels too heavy and personal to write about now. It was a long night that almost ended my life, and a long road to recovery.
The pneumonia left me with badly scarred lungs and a different view of life. It gave me a deep appreciation for all my blessings. I have lived to see my children grow up and have their own children. I am a happy man living a happy life, doing what I love. For me, Thanksgiving is a daily exercise, not a meal in November.
I will miss Thanksgiving with my children and grandchildren, but it is a tiny sacrifice for the great gifts that I have been given, that I wish to honor by being here. Life is precious and must never be squandered, nor taken for granted. I will be as safe as I can be, until I get my vaccine, because I will not squander the gift I received 32 years ago. I have so much to live for; so do you.
Please be safe and don’t take chances. This is not a time for bravado, or doubting science. Do it for you and not for anyone else, although by doing so you will benefit everything and everyone.
Until next week, I wish you all peace and love.
Take a look at our manifesto. Click picture to enlarge!
The Thanksgiving holiday and gratitude go hand in hand and although the holiday may look different this year, being grateful is always a good idea.
Joel Goldsmith wrote.
“It has been said that “By their works ye shall know them.” This truth applies most aptly to Gratitude. Gratitude reflects itself in works. The higher the concept of Gratitude …the greater the works of the Being reflecting that Gratitude.
The act of expressing Gratitude is in truth the act of recognizing and acknowledging (within Yourself) the Source of all your good - which is God. It is impossible to express Gratitude without expressing Love, as they are both components of God and, therefore inseparable from God.
Gratitude is akin to Love. Gratitude, like Love, is God expressing Itself through man as man. “
Gratitude is a function of Spirit, like life, freedom, peace, etc. It elevates your consciousness. I think gratitude brings more to be grateful for because it heightens mindfulness.
You can use Gratitude as a vibration, like you use neutrality. Imagine yourself filled with gratitude, chakras, cells, aura and mind, and see if you do not notice more things to be grateful for. God or Source is Consciousness and consciousness is what give us the ability to do everything we do. Everything we experience is a product of our consciousness, from our work to the food that we eat. It is Source providing for us. If we think of it in those terms it is easy to find things to be grateful for.
Have a very blessed week and a Happy Thanksgiving.

I hope you're enjoying your weekend thus far. I am so excited for Thanksgiving, and hope you are too!
This last week we talked about the 5-to-1 rule on 12Radio. This is essential for good, healthy and happy relationships with
oneself and your loved ones.
The Week Ahead
As Thanksgiving looms, some may feel constrained. I appreciate Mark Husson's astrological take this week which included the feeling of being fearful, especially about finances.
I couldn't agree more! Though Jupiter went direct this year, it is still squeezed tightly between Pluto (transformation, debt) and Saturn (government, discipline). In layman's term, you really have to work for it this year!
But what's interesting about all this is how it affects our relationships. I know this may sound utterly shocking, but did you know anxiety and frustration are NOT good for our relationships? Who would've known (sarcasm ensues).
So what does one do, as Thanksgiving approaches, and we all have a laundry list
of complaints to fill our brains with? Rather than the gratitude that is traditional of this holiday.
Let's go back to the 5-to-1 Rule: 5 good to 1 bad
Now, things can always be worse. So in this situation, we can not change the outer circumstance, but we can change our perspective towards it. So let's get the
obvious out of the way:
1 Negative (examples):
I don't get to see my family
I have gained 10 lbs. this year and now will pack on more
Now, let's rebalance our lives and our mindset with :
Five Positive Facts about this year (examples):
I have enough money to survive
I have a job
I have family and friends that love me
I have a home
My health is in good shape
Covid can't last forever
My future will be bright
I have time to focus on me
Now, you really have to list 5 things! Don't stop at 2 or 3. This is a 5-to-1 ratio!!! And yes, it makes a big difference.
So now that you've done this exercise once, I want you to make a habit of it. This is, afterall, esoterically Scorpio Season. It is time for change! And this is a lifestyle change that separates the capable from the drowning ( believe me, I know!).
But since we are on the subject of Scorpio Season, I also want to encourage you all to really recognize that the emotions that you are feeling (and even the physical symptoms) are your body trying to tell you something! Perhaps this is about
something deeper than you realized. Perhaps you have been suppressing negative emotions all year with food and distraction, even though it is really dying to be processed once and for all.
When we have negative feelings about Covid, this is a good thing. This is an indicator that we love life. We have a true love for human life and humanity and hate to see what has happened to us because of this cruel virus.
This is GOOD. This is HEALTHY. This is waking you up to realize, you do love your life and you do have motivation within you to make the most of it. Embrace that love inside you! Embrace the sadness and grief; they are symptoms of losing something you care about.
So long as you remember, this can not and will not last forever.
Tomorrow is a new day. Possibilities are STILL here; as is magic and
Have a very blessed Thanksgiving, beauties!
