NEVADA COUNTY REAL ESTATE IN THE FACE OF COVID-19
The Nevada County Association of REALTORS® has been working diligently during the recent and ongoing Pandemic. Our REALTORS® are and have been busy taking new listings, showing properties and making sales happen. Of course, all of this is using the guidelines mandated by the State of California and the required forms created by the California Association of REALTORS legal team to assist its member and their clients in providing safe practices for property showings and transacting business.
Local REALTORS are meeting buyers at respective listed properties, using masks, lots of hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes. In spite of all of the safety precautions, our sales are going strong. At this time, the CA real estate industry is unable to hold open houses yet are able to show with mandated advisories, electronic notifications and using thorough sanitization procedures to ensure both Seller’s and Buyer’s health and safety.
Just in May on the residential side of real estate, we listed 132 new homes, opened escrow on 100 homes escrow and closed 99 of which 16 $1000 grants were provided to first-time homebuyers. Home prices are remaining stable, and we expect our sales to remain strong as we see an influx of buyers coming in from other area’s. Yes, they have discovered that they can work from home just as efficiently and our special Nevada County is where they want to be. We are dubbing this movement “Urban Flight” and look for strong summer sales.
