Kid's Day at the Market!
This Saturday, the HLFM celebrates Kid’s Day with lots of fun and educational activities throughout the Market. Be sure to pick up a special Kid’s Day Activities Map from an HLFM Volunteer when you enter the Market! Kids can come to the Kid’s Day Red Flags Tent to join the Market Scavenger Hunt, Talk to a Farmer Quiz, and find out about Kid’s Day events. From 9-10 am it’s Tutti Frutti Twister in the Green Flags Tent near the Children’s Playground. Also starting at 9 am, there's the City of Lewes Environmental Footprints activity in the Orange Flags Tent. Kids can color and write on a footprint, and be filmed offering their own ideas on the environment at the Orange Flags Environmental Footprints tent. The messages in the videos will be shown as the introduction to the Tuesday September 19 Environmental Public Input workshop. The footprints will be woven together in a tapestry and presented to the Mayor and City Council in April 2024 as part of an Earth Day celebration. Children’s Beach House Culinary Director Paula Baker leads a hands-on smoothie and fruit skewer activity at 10 am in the Blue Flags Demo Tent. Also, from 10-11 am it’s Children’s Storytime at the Yellow Tent. Fifer's will offer a free piece of fruit to all kids and a sticker during the market this Saturday. Kids accompanied by an adult with a SNAP card will receive $10 Bonus Bucks for free from the SNAP tent to spend at the Market.

Supporting our Community
HLFM's Food Pantry Purchase Program
Help Your Favorite Farmers
and Local Food Pantries
HLFM customers who want to help feed the local community with fresh local food may purchase produce, meats, milk, and other food from growers at the Market to donate to the local Food Pantries, including Epworth and Casa San Francisco Food Pantries, every Saturday. It’s so easy--all you have to do is let the vendor know what you want to donate or give $5, $10, $25 to the grower and ask them to put together a selection for the food pantries. The farmer gets your sale, and the food pantry gets the local food. We thank you for your generosity!
SNAP, WIC, SFMNP
HLFM Matches up to $20 of SNAP
Per Market
The Market will continue to match SNAP benefits up to $20 per market, per customer. You can find the SNAP tent inside the Market with volunteers to process your SNAP/EBT and give you the HLFM tokens that can be used at market all season long. WIC and SFMNP benefits are also welcome at the Market.
Looking to join in on the HLFM fun? Volunteer!
Do you come to the Market and wonder what those folks in green HLFM aprons do? Well, you can find out by volunteering for the non-profit Historic Lewes Farmers Market, almost totally run by volunteers. Join in on the fun this season! To volunteer, please contact: volunteer@historiclewesfarmersmarket.org.

Beebe Hospital is generously allowing Market customers to park in its outside parking lot (far rear near entrance to the park).
Note for dog-owners: Please keep dogs under control on a tightly held, non-retractable leash inside the Market to ensure the safety of all customers at the Market. Please also ensure that your dog does not urinate on any signs, trash cans, tents, tables, or safety cones inside and around the Market. Thank you for your help.
