Help Amplify Our Voice: Use the Content Calendar to Support Library Funding Advocacy

As a library marketer, you know how important it is to consistently produce content that builds a strong brand and connects with your community. Right now, the OLC is actively advocating for library funding in the state budget, and we need your help to ensure our voices are heard and libraries remain strong. One effective way you can contribute is by using the OLC's content calendar to share your library’s story and the positive impact it has on your community.

The calendar will help us stay organized, consistent and aligned with our statewide advocacy goals. It provides a clear roadmap for regularly highlighting the valuable work your library is doing—from early literacy programs to outreach initiatives for seniors.

Each week, we’ve provided a specific theme for you to focus on. Share examples related to these topics and keep telling the stories of how your library is enriching your community, whether through educational programs or access to technology. The more people hear these positive messages, the less room there is for negativity.

Next week, we’re starting by focusing on early childhood literacy and the science of reading. Share what your library is doing to support early learners. By telling your stories on social media, your website, or in newsletters, you’ll strengthen our advocacy efforts and raise awareness about the incredible impact public libraries have across our state.
