'Tis the Season… to make the most of the holidays on your Facebook page!
The holiday season is here. We know how important this time of year can be for businesses like yours. To help you make the most of holidays, we've created  2018 Holiday Tips , a collection of best practices and examples selected by experts at Facebook for businesses. It includes inspiration for holiday-themed posts, ideas for promoting events, and offers tips for how to interact one-on-one with your customers and more.

Prepare your business – Holiday shoppers will want to learn more about your business (hours, business address, etc.). Now is a great time to review your Facebook Page profile to make sure it's up to date so it’s easy for people to search for and find your business.

Attract Customers – Showcase holiday products with posts. How do you get customers to consider your offerings, especially if you don't have a storefront or simply need to get more people into your place of business? Facebook posts are easy and relatively inexpensive to create, they require little advance planning, and effectively target and reach potential customers. You also have the option to sell directly from Facebook and Instagram.

Interact with customers – Get into the festive spirit. The holidays are a wonderful time for businesses to connect with customers on a personal level. Show your company’s festive spirit – and share it with your community and future customers. Use your Facebook page and posts to engage customers, and create a positive, welcoming vibe to set the tone for sales now and in the future.

Learn to adjust your messaging – Understand which content is resonating. Use Facebook’s Page Insights to learn which posts your visitors are engaging with the most. Knowing this can help you determine what kind of content to create in the future.

Looking to hire extra help? You can post a job opening from your Facebook Page to recruit employees as needed. If they’re already following your page, they will have an idea of what your company is all about, and if they’re just discovering you, it’s a great introduction to the opportunities you offer.

Google Ads – What's Changing?
Earlier this year, Google introduced parallel tracking as an optional feature to improve your landing page speed by sending users directly to your website while all click measurement is processed in the background.

Parallel tracking is required for all Search Network and Shopping campaigns on Google Ads to ensure a better landing page experience for users. At that time, the account opt-in setting was removed and parallel tracking became the only click measurement method for Search and Shopping campaigns on Google Ads.
For more information on parallel tracking, refer to the  Google Ads Help Center  and contact your click measurement provider. If you have further questions, please reach out to your account team or  contact us  at any time.
Social Media Trends to Pay Attention

The New Year is fast approaching. Here are some brand opportunities to help you develop a strong strategy to refine your  marketing .

Let’s take a look at these social media trends for the New Year to see how you can get a head start and use them to your business’s advantage.

1. Videos – Latest statistics report that 80% of the total global internet traffic will soon be attributed to videos. Ninety percent of SNS users share videos, and 87% of marketers use videos in their campaigns. It’s estimated that as many as 95% of messages from videos are retained in viewers minds.

2. Live Streaming – Different social media platforms like Snapchat, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and Instagram are promoting the use of live streaming. It is expected that by 2021, the video streaming market will reach $70.5 billion.

3. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Chatbots – Increasingly marketers are using AI and Chatbots to draw customers to their social media platforms. By creating real-time engagement with customers, they are able to quickly connect, educate and develop relationships with potential clients on a personal basis.

4. Traditional Generation – Born 1922 to 1945 – also known as Veterans, the Silent Generation or the Greatest Generation, are most familiar with using Facebook and YouTube social media platforms.

Generation X – Born early-to-mid 1960s to the early 1980s – Generation X or Gen X are known for using Facebook, Instagram, YouTube.

Web Design Trends for 2019

Thanks to the progress of web browsers, we now see some exciting variations. With grids and parallax layouts, web designers are playing with shadows more than ever to create depth and the illusion of a world beyond the screen.

Color Schemes
More designers are becoming courageous in their approach to color including supersaturation and vibrant shades combined with headers that are no longer just horizontal but re-imagined with slashes and hard angles.

Particle Backgrounds
Particle backgrounds are a great solution to performance issues that websites run into with a video background. These animations are lightweight Java script that allow movement to be created as a natural part of the background without taking too long to load.

Mobile First
Mobile browsing has now officially surpassed desktop. Almost everyone these days shops and orders on their smartphone.
Emerging Marketing and PR Trends
What the PR pros are saying: “Our biggest challenge is info-tribalism and the loss of respect for national media ‘experts.’ Major media has been dealt a million social media blows, and our biggest challenge (and opportunity) is to establish our own credibility on the long haul.” —  David Wenger , Director of Communications, McCombs School of Business,  @UTAustin

Getting Noticed in Growing Media
PR pros have had to really step up their game to get their clients noticed on the ever-expanding communications channels. Writing in the voices of our clients on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and more aka ‘Dark Media’ requires dynamic methods to break out and get noticed.

Paid vs. Earned
The lines between editorial content and advertising are blurring. While paid placement (advertising and advertorial) is still important most still consider earned media true public relations.

PR is more fast-paced than ever, and to build a PR strategy that dominates, you’ll have to put in the work during the pre-season.

Use Video Content Generated by Customers.
Putting your customers behind the camera to talk about how they have used and benefited from your product can be a powerful way to engage viewers and appeal to prospective customers.
