THE NEXT MARKETPLACE LUNCHEON WILL BE HELD,
from 11:30am-1:00pm on THURSDAY, OCTOBER 13th!

We will be meeting at the Holiday Inn and Suites Banquet Room, 1302 North Ponce De Leon Blvd. St. Augustine, FL 32084

                                October Luncheon Speaker(s):
                                        Mike and Linda Beaver
Owners of Beaver Toyota/Cummings Toyota

Mike and Linda Beaver have been married for 24 years and his family has been in the car business his entire life.  Although he majored in Biochemistry with aspirations of becoming a doctor, during his senior year at University of North Texas, he discovered that he, just like his father, liked to work hard...........in the car business.

If by some chance, the name, Linda Beaver, doesn't ring a bell, you recognize her as "the pretty blonde lady in those Toyota commercials". Linda is a former beauty queen, classical pianist and mother of four, but here in St. Augustine & Jacksonville, she is best know as the face of Beaver Toyota.   People often come to the dealership and ask if they can meet Linda and they come in and say, "I don't need a car, I'm here because of you!"  Aside from starring in the commercials, Linda is also involved with charity work.

The Beavers lived in Texas, where Mike owned three General Motors dealerships for several years until they received an opportunity to purchase Sauter Toyota in Santa Fe, NM.  So in 2000 they left Dallas for Santa Fe.

Along with Matt Calavan, Linda's brother, they resurrected 3 "crippled pigs", the Chevrolet Dealership in Lufkin, Texas, that had been closed during the 1991 recession, the Toyota Dealership in Santa Fe, NM, that had been thoroughly abused by the previous owners, to the point they had to sell the store or simply go out of business and then the Toyota Dealership here in St. Augustine, that had been plunged into Federal bankruptcy.  They made each one of these stores exceptional and successful.

Mike said, "One surprising result of being in a successful, stable business for a long period of time is that the talented developing people on your staff, expects, and even requires, to be advanced in position and compensation.  I knew I had to grow in order to allow the fine people I had mentored and "raised" to be able to advance or they would eventually leave for better positions elsewhere."

You don't want to miss hearing more of their incredible story.

Like Linda says, "We're here to WOW you!"

COME AND BE WOWED!

Work Day Prayer
Lord Jesus, as I enter this workplace, I bring Your presence with me. I speak Your peace, Your grace, and Your perfect order into the atmosphere of this office.  I acknowledge Your Lordship over all that will be spoken, thought, decided and accomplished within these walls.

Lord Jesus, I thank You for the gifts You have deposited in me.

I do not take them lightly, but commit to using them responsibly and well.

Give me a fresh supply of truth and beauty; on which to draw as I do my job.

Help me to solve the problem which lies hidden beneath my shortcomings.

Do not deliver me from these symptoms before I see what they mean.

Anoint my creativity, my ideas, my energy so that even my smallest task may bring You honor.  Lord, when I am confused, guide me. When I am weary, energize me. Lord, when I am burned out, infuse me with the light of Your Holy Spirit.  Give me the strength to accomplish the tasks at hand.

May the work that I do and the way I do it, bring hope, life, and courage to all that I come in contact with today.  And Oh Lord, even in this day's most stressful moment, may I rest in You. In the name of Jesus my savior I pray.  Amen
.
From the Directors:

We sincerely hope you will join us for our luncheon and bring a co-worker along with you. We believe there are still MANY in the St. Augustine area that we need to experience The Marketplace Ministry Network.  We are here to encourage you, strengthen your faith as you live it out in the Marketplace, and help you fulfill your calling in your own place of work. Remember, your work IS your ministry.

Sincerely,
