Working to Keep Marshall Connected
Vast Broadband and the Marshall YMCA additional WiFi hot spot for students and community.
At Vast Broadband, the health and well-being of our customers, employees and communities is of the highest importance to us. We understand the concern and uncertainty many are likely experiencing due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
During this time, it’s never been more vital to stay connected to community, including having access to online education. To help ensure Marshall students and community have uninterrupted WiFi access, Vast Broadband and the Marshall YMCA have partnered to offer WiFi for 60 days free to the public in the parking lot of the YMCA located at 200 South A Street.
“It’s important we do everything we can for our communities and neighbors during these uncertain times,” said Mark Bookout, regional director of operations at Vast Broadband. “The partnership with the YMCA is one way we can help everyone feel more connected right now.”
“This hotspot should be used safely by practicing proper social distancing or preferably connect from their vehicle,” added Bookout.
“The Marshall Area YMCA is excited to partner with VAST Broadband to make high speed Internet available to the community,” said Tom Bolin, executive director of the Marshall YMCA. “Access to the Internet is critical in these days of distance learning and online social communication. These hotspots will benefit our local population while maintaining the physical distancing requirement which are so important at this time. Thank you Vast Broadband for serving the community.”
When accessing the hot spots, it’s important to maintain proper social distancing guidelines as recommended by the CDC.
