Marshall Community Services/Summer 2020 Update

Most households in Marshall that have a student enrolled in a K-12 school, should receive a hard copy of our Summer 2020 activity offerings in their postal mail. If you or someone you know doesn’t receive and would like a hard copy mailed to them – please contact us at the number listed at the end of this correspondence. We have attached an electronic version of the Summer 2020 brochure for you to access here: http://online.fliphtml5.com/ficn/ilbx/
While we expect additional guidance specific to Community Education & Recreation programming in the weeks to come, our staff has continued to develop plans to offer summer programming consistent with state health guidelines and COVID-19 direction from Minnesota Department of Education (MDE), Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), and the United States Center for Disease Control (CDC).
Some programming will be cancelled, some will be modified, and some new, high-quality programming will be created. Please review the attached Summer Updates 05272020 document with our most recent updates. MCS will remain nimble and responsive to opportunities and challenges that emerge as our community begins to return to civic life. MCS assures you of two things: the safety of our customers and staff are paramount; and that we will continue to keep you informed as changes are necessary. Thank you for your patience during this time of uncertainty.
As you receive and review the Summer 2020 brochure, IF you, or your child, choose to enroll in these programs you can expect additional, program-specific details, deadlines and next steps via separate communication.
  • May 27: Registration opens at 9:00am for COMMUNITY EDUCATION offerings.
  • June 1: Registration opens at 9:00am for RECREATION offerings.
  • June 15: Tentative registration opening for Aquatic Center usage (if permitted by the Governor’s Orders).
ELEMENTS GUIDING SUMMER DECISIONS
Safety is critical.
As we gradually open our summer programming, the safety of our students, families, staff and community is our primary concern. Our detailed plans will adhere to guidelines from the CDC and State of Minnesota and will be shared with all participants.
We are in this together.
We know that demand for summer activities will be increasing throughout summer as guidelines evolve and more people return to work. MCS is committed to remaining nimble and expanding our offerings as much as possible as summer progresses. If you have any questions regarding summer activities, please contact us at (507) 537-6767 or mcs6767@ci.marshall.mn.us
