Gabrielle Hall– Dean of Students I joined the Marshall family in February, and my favorite part of being here has been getting to know the community. I enjoy making connections with students and helping improve their attendance habits.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go? If I could travel anywhere in the world (and money were no object), I would go to Tanzania to stay at the Four Seasons Safari Lodge and visit the Tanzania Serengeti National Park.
What is your favorite way to spend a Saturday? My favorite way to spend a Saturday is spending time with my baby boy, Azzie. I also love all things self-care, so you can probably find me at the hair salon or nail salon.
What advice would you give to students about making the most of high school? The best way to have the best high school experience is to be PRESENT! Not just in class, but in clubs, sports, games, and other activities. Also, be willing to ask for help. Marshall has so many faculty and staff who are dedicated to supporting students, and we love when students come to us. Find an adult with whom you connect, and it will make your journey through high school much more enjoyable. Everyone can benefit from a mentor.
What’s one thing you hope students take away from your class or role? I hope students realize that we value them and want them to be here. Every student belongs here and is part of the Marshall Community. I also hope students see the value in good attendance and how showing up to school every day, on time, will help prepare them for a successful future.
If your students gave you a “superlative” (like in the yearbook), what would it be? "Most likely to accidentally be called Mom"
If you could give one piece of advice to Marshall's parents, what would it be? If I could give one piece of advice to Marshall's parents, I would say that encouraging daily attendance is the #1 way to support your student. If you can get them to school, we can help them succeed. Many parents don't realize that attendance is actually on their student's academic transcript, so when they are applying for college and jobs, they can see how many days of school they have missed each year.
