Urgent PTSA Positions for 2020-21
Are you looking for a way to get involved this year? Marshall PTSA is in urgent need of volunteers for the following two positions:
Vice President: This role serves as the shadow president in preparation to step into the president role the following year. Please don't be intimidated! Our Marshall community is warm and welcoming, and it's a lot of fun working with Principal Litz and our amazing staff and educators. Let us know if you'd like to talk more in depth about this position!
Chair, Reflections Arts Contest - The contest WILL be held this year, albeit virtually! The Chair leads our effort to participate in this national PTA contest. Last year one of our Marshall student winners went on to be a finalist at the county level and win 2nd place at the NOVA district level. It's a fun and great way to showcase the talent of our amazing GCM artists!

We are excited to have the opportunity to work with the Class of 2024 over the next four years. In order for the class to have a successful high school experience we need parents who are willing to volunteer their time over the next few years to help with fundraising, activities, prom, homecoming, and graduation. If you are interested in becoming one of the parent liaisons for the Class of 2024 please contact Danielle Schoolcraft at [email protected]. We look forward to working with you!
Sincerely,
Danielle Schoolcraft
Assistant Principal
Collect for Kids
There will be many opportunities this year to help students and families within our own Marshall community, as well as the greater Fairfax County community.
Collect for Kids:
The 2020-21 school year will begin in a few weeks, and many FCPS students in need are still without basic school supplies. A donation to Collect for Kids will help provide the supplies students need in order to participate fully in class. Nearly 60,000 students whose families may not be able to afford to purchase their own will receive school supply kits this year through Collect for Kids. A $50 contribution will provide school supplies for five students. Please click HERE to help us make sure all students have what they need to be creative and successful in school.
Healthy Minds Podcast Debut
FCPS has launched a new weekly Healthy Minds podcast to provide relevant, actionable information on emotional health and well-being to parents and teens as they endure the ongoing pandemic and prepare for the school year. LISTEN HERE.. The first guest was McLean High School counselor Beth Werfel who talked about managing and coping during uncertain times.
