International Night/Heritage Committee Video Contest
Videos Due February 28th!

The PTSA International/Heritage Night Committee is hosting a video contest this year instead of our usual program. All GCM students are invited to submit a video for judging, or just a short hello/goodbye clip in any language. Share some of what makes you unique!

Virtual Celebration Details: Two ways to participate:

1) Compete in the video contest (rules below)
Videos should be in one of 5 categories: Musical instrument performance, vocal performance, dance performance, cooking (of an international recipe), or other (something of your choosing)

Videos must be no longer than 2 minutes long.

Videos can include one student only or a group of students (if you have any ethnic clothing, we would love to see it!).

Videos should be taken on an iPhone (or any smart phone) held horizontally.

All videos must be submitted by 11:59 pm on Sunday, February 28, 2021.

Videos must be submitted via our Google drive link: lhttps://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1xlDTo6VEYh8OimNTZVw2qZHBLTwF12OI

All videos will be judged after the submission deadline. Monetary prizes will be awarded to the winners in each category - so we'll have 15 winners! In each category, winners will get $50- First Place, $25 - Second Place, and $10 - Third Place. (A student can only win in one category.)

Or you can just:

2) Send us a short "Hello" video clip and a "Goodbye" video clip.

We realize not everyone wants to take on a full project. So, we encourage all Marshall students to tape yourselves in a brief video saying " hello" or "welcome" in your world language. And in another quick video, tape yourself saying "goodbye" or "thanks for watching" in a world language.

We will use these short clips in the final videos of winners.

Videos must be submitted via our Google drink in the "hello" and "goodbye" folders.

Blood Donors Needed

Due to the pandemic and recent snow, there is a greater need for blood donations now.  You can make an appointment to donate through Inova Blood Donor Services at https://www.inovablood.org/donate-blood/make-an-appointment/.
It only takes about an hour of your time and they have 3 locations (Annandale, Sterling and Centreville).  If you have recovered from COVID-19, you may be able to be a convalescent plasma donor to help someone currently ill.  Thanks for your help!
