Welcome from the PTSA

Here we go!  We'd like to welcome our returning students and families, as well as all of those new to the Marshall community.  And, of course, to our amazing teachers, principal and staff who have worked tirelessly on behalf of our students throughout the summer!  It is certainly going to be an unusual school year, and we will all be trying to find our footing in this new virtual school environment. We at the PTSA hope to focus this year on providing information that will be helpful to our students and families in dealing with all of the uncertainty we face.  We have several guest speakers lined up this year and are excited to support all of you as best we can. Please don't hesitate to reach out if we can be of assistance to you in any way.  Best of luck to all of our Statesmen this year.  Let's do this - we are STATESMEN STRONG!

Please complete GCM Digital Consent ASAP

In order to comply with The Family Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) each parent is required to give FCPS and Marshall High School consent to use certain digital tools that require a student to log in as themselves. Without consent from every parent in each class, our teachers will not be able to use these powerful learning tools after October 1st thus affecting the quality of education we can provide in certain instances.
Therefore, please:
  1. Go to our website by clicking on this link: https://marshallhs.fcps.edu/adopteddigitalresources
  2. Read about the tools we will be using this school year.
  3. Click on the "Provide Consent" link which can be found in the middle of the page but can also be found here:https://isweb.fcps.edu/iscontacts/techpermform.cfm?secure
  4. Enter your child's student ID number as well as a parent email address or phone number that we have on file in our SIS systems (the one you use to log into ParentVUE should work)
  5. Follow the instructions to provide consent for your child to log into, and use, these educational tools.
Once consent is given, it is good for the entire school year.
Urgent PTSA Positions for 2020-21

Are you looking for a way to get involved this year? Marshall PTSA is in urgent need of volunteers for the following two positions:

Vice President:  This role serves as the shadow president in preparation to step into the president role the following year. Please don't be intimidated!  Our Marshall community is warm and welcoming, and it's a lot of fun working with Principal Litz and our amazing staff and educators. Let us know if you'd like to talk more in depth about this position!

Chair, Reflections Arts Contest - The contest WILL be held this year, albeit virtually! The Chair leads our effort to participate in this national PTA contest.  Last year one of our Marshall student winners went on to be a finalist at the county level and win 2nd place at the NOVA district level. It's a fun and great way to showcase the talent of our amazing GCM artists!

Support the Marshall Market

The Market Is Opening! We are so excited to begin our 3rd year! While the process is a little different this year, we are still able to provide support for food insecure students and families that need a helping hand. The Market will be distributing 40 bags of food and toiletries every other week starting Sept 14th.

Welcome to the Class of 2024

To the Class of 2024 Parents,

We are excited to have the opportunity to work with the Class of 2024 over the next four years.  In order for the class to have a successful high school experience we need parents who are willing to volunteer their time over the next few years to help with fundraising, activities, prom, homecoming, and graduation. If you are interested in becoming one of the parent liaisons for the Class of 2024 please contact Danielle Schoolcraft at [email protected].  We look forward to working with you!

Sincerely,

Danielle Schoolcraft
Assistant Principal
