A letter from the president and CEO of the Marshall University Foundation

Dear Herd Community - I hope the first days of April are bringing you sunshine, warmth and excitement for what's ahead. It certainly is a busy month here at Marshall University, and as always, we are grateful for your connection and support of our beloved institution.

Staci and I are looking forward to a variety of festivities taking place on campus next week, including our first Spring Fountain Ceremony at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 12, at the Memorial Student Center Plaza, and we invite all who are able to join us. Earlier that day, we will celebrate with more than 400 donors and Marshall students at our Scholarship Honor Brunch, and that night, will attend our first Alumni Awards Banquet at the Marshall Health Network Arena.

As a reminder, Marshall University's Day of Giving is set to take place April 23 and 24, 2025. This annual event, hosted by the Marshall University Foundation, spans 1,837 minutes, symbolizing the university's founding year, and encourages alumni, faculty, staff and supporters to contribute to various initiatives that align with their passions, such as scholarships, academic programs, student organizations and campus facilities.

This year, you can engage in challenges, matching gifts and incentives. Additionally, if you would like to become an official Day of Giving ambassador, please reach out to Griffin Talbott at griffin.talbott@marshall.edu or visit givingday.marshall.edu.

Finally, I encourage all our friends and alumni to join Herd Connections. Herd Connections is Marshall University's innovative "Refer a Friend" program, empowering students, alumni, faculty and staff to grow the Thundering Herd community. By submitting a simple referral form, participants can help prospective students discover their place at Marshall. The admissions team provides personalized outreach to referred individuals, guiding them through the application process. As a token of appreciation, both the referrer and the referred student receive exclusive Marshall swag upon successful enrollment. Learn more below!

Thank you for all that you do in support of Marshall and Go Herd!
