GREETINGS                                                 June 21, 2018
Words to Ponder as Summer Begins

"What is unique about a moment that has the power to bless us and the potential to feed us is not so much the power of the moment itself, but rather the quality of presence we bring to that moment. Our presence can change an ordinary, unnoticed moment into a moment of beauty that can feed the soul. Holiness comes wrapped in the ordinary. There are burning bushes all around you. Every tree is full of angels. Hidden beauty is waiting in every crumb. Life wants to lead you from crumbs to angels, but this can happen only if you are willing to unwrap the ordinary by staying with it long enough to harvest its treasure."

- Macrina Wiederkehr, A Tree Full of Angels

EVENTS

Joint Worship Service & Lunch - Ancaster United Churches
Date:  Sunday, June 24, 2018
Start Time:  10:00 a.m.  (please note revised time)
Location:  Bethesda United Church, 584 Garner Rd W

This Sunday Bethesda United Church will host a joint worship service with the theme "The Whole People of God."  Weather permitting, this service will take place outdoors, in Bethesda's beautiful "Healing Garden" and will move to various stations surrounding the church as we consider the mind, body and spirit.  Bring a folding chair so that you can sit at each station during the service.

Following the service there will be a potluck lunch, so bring a cold food item to contribute to this meal.  Picnic tables and shelters will be available.  This should be a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a church picnic and get to know others in Ancaster's United Church community.  A few old fashioned Sunday School picnic games will follow.  See you there!

Vacation Bible School
Registration forms are now available on our website or on the bulletin board down the hall.  It is in the mornings from July 3rd to 6th for children SK to grade 6.  The cost is $25 with cheques payable to St. Andrews Presbyterian Church.

Accommodations Needed
A mature female student who will be attending Redeemer University College in the Fall is looking for accommodation.  She does not have a vehicle so the closer to Redeemer or on a bus line the better.  She is looking for a small studio, 1 bedroom apartment or small granny flat.  If you have a room available or know of someone who does, kindly contact Janice Howie at 519-362-8395.

Joy Day
Many of you have been asking about "JOY DAY" already.  That in itself brings me such joy!  All I know at this point is that it will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at the Waterfront Centre once again.  Please mark your calendars.  You can contact Nancy Pierce at 519.304.3710 or [email protected] or text 905.921.7882,  if you are new to Joy Day and would like to know more about it.
