This has been a summer like no other here in Nova Scotia and the whole world. We have been called through beautiful days, birdsong and lush countryside to praise, like St. Francis, Sister Earth. We have also been called through pandemic and tragedy to hold fast to the One who sustains us, while we strive to work for the common good in our common home. We stand in awe and some sadness as we watch Summer slowly close her door. Fall stands waiting to make an entrance clothed with the beauty of color, dancing in the wake of cool breezes and expectant of new beginnings.
We at Martha Ministry of Spirituality sense that spirit of newness and hope as we provide offerings which are designed to support the faith life of those who come to us. Due to the protocols of the Pandemic we have had to make changes in how we are available and present for people. We are relying on the presence and action of the Spirit of God to lead us through these fall days deeper into the mystery of God.
During the Season of Creation from September 1 to the feast of St. Francis of Assisi on October 4, we are invited by our Pope Francis to renew our relationship with our Creator and all creation through contemplation, celebration, and commitment. This Season of Creation invites us to join our sisters and brothers of all faiths in prayer and action for our common home.
Oasis Days will celebrate in prayer and reflection the changing of the four seasons throughout the remainder of the year.
