Back to School x 2
Our doors are open and our classrooms are filling up with bright eyes, beautiful smiles, and eager minds. Martha’s Table is doubling its impact with two locations for Early Childhood Education: our location in NW DC and our new Martha’s Table headquarters at The Commons at Stanton Square in SE DC. Four classes kicked off at each location in August where early learners are falling in love with books in the classroom, getting creative through arts and play-based learning, and exploring the garden on Farmer Fridays.

New this school year, our students at The Commons access freshly prepared meals and snacks from our in-house chefs each day. Also, student families and neighbors are invited to shop at our no-cost Martha’s Market at The Commons.

The whole-child and whole-family approach of the nationally accredited program highlights literacy and social-emotional development while weaving in wrap-around family supports. With parents as “first teachers” Martha’s Table continues to support the whole family as we learn and grow together.

Back to Markets
Joyful Food Markets kick off in October with 53 school partners (almost every elementary school in Wards 7 & 8)! JFM offers schools three food access solutions: the traditional Joyful Market, and new for 2018-2019, Joyful Bag Markets and Stay & Play. Joyful Bag Markets offer a quick and easy option for busy families, and Stay & Play Markets, designed for for schools with many students enrolled in after-school, offer a deeper exploration through food education games and activities. Join us at a market and see the exciting new JFM lineup.  The proof is in the produce!
