My Garden of a Thousand Bees. (55min | G | 2020)
A PBS presentation conceived and written by Martin Dohrn, a veteran wildlife photographer and a bee enthusiast. During the Covid-19 lockdown of 2020, Mr. Dohrn embarked on a journey to film as many bees as possible in his tiny urban garden in Bristol, England. By the end of the summer, he became obsessed and even developed relationships with some individuals. He saw over 60 species of bees from the largest bees in England to scissor bees, the size of mosquitoes. This documentary will enlighten viewers about the incredible diversity of bees and the minidramas playing out in our own backyards. “To bee or not to bee?” is not the question. The importance of bees to our food supply makes the answer to that question a definite “To be”! This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Martin County Library System, Inc.
