Little Women (1hr 15min) [PG] 2019
Greta Gerwig's film adaptation of Louisa May Alcott's classic novel Little Women follows the lives of the March sisters—Jo, Meg, Amy, and Beth—as they navigate the challenges of growing up in post-Civil War America. Jo, an aspiring writer, reflects on their past experiences and dreams for the future. The story explores themes of love, ambition, and the struggle for independence. Gerwig's non-linear narrative structure, interweaving past and present, adds depth to the characters' development. The film is celebrated for its strong performances, particularly by Saoirse Ronan and Florence Pugh, and its fresh, feminist perspective. Also starring Emma Watson and Eliza Scanlen. Light jacket/sweater recommended for auditorium. This movie series is dedicated to former library director, Donna Tunsoy, for her commitment to our library community. This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Martin County Library System, Inc.

Book Gossip
Monday, March 31 | 12pm–1:30pm
Blake Library
A different type of book group—we get together to gossip about books we are reading and hear what titles others have enjoyed. A great way to discover new genres and expand your reading horizon. Book gossip is not a typical book club where everyone reads the same book then discusses that book. Rather, we meet to share the books we enjoyed and discover which books others have liked. This helps us to expand our reading horizons to include other authors, genres, and titles we may not otherwise have discovered. Join us to add to your “to be read” (TBR) list. Facilitated by Janette Noe'. Discover other library-facilitated book clubs, new titles, authors, and read-alikes with Readers' Advisory, and watch Virtual Author Talks: https://www.martin.fl.us/book-club-resources-discussion-kits
