Exhibit: Three Generations of Art: Beauty in Nature and Form

Elizabeth Huntington Coley Fox (1895-1973) was an artist, school teacher, and resident of New Rochelle from 1928 to 1947.


Opening Sunday, March 19, a retrospective exhibit of three generations of accomplished artists--Elizabeth Coley Fox, along with granddaughter Susan Mitrano and great granddaughter Sarah Mitrano will be on view in the Lumen Winter Gallery, including a display of letters and memorabilia from the personal papers of Elizabeth Coley Fox in the Library’s Archive. Learn more.

Do you love dogs? Do dogs love you? Join us on Tuesday, March 21, 4:00 pm to make a dog treat for the furry friend in your life and one to donate to the pups at New Rochelle ASPCA. You will also get to Meet Cooper, a Mini Golden Doodle for hugs and belly rubs. Ages 5-11. Registration required.

Extraordinary Women Film Series: Sisters Rising

Join us on Thursday, March 23, 6:00 pm for Sisters Rising, the story of six Native American women fighting to restore personal and tribal sovereignty in the face of ongoing sexual violence against Indigenous women in the United States, Details and registration.


The Zonta Club of New Rochelle, in collaboration with the New Rochelle Public Library presents films featuring extraordinary women and their accomplishments. Discussion and Q & A will follow the screening.

Join us for a live concert on Saturday, March 25, 1:00 pm with The Kenn Morr Band, an original alternative folk rock group inspired by melody-minded acts such as Gordon Lightfoot, Simon and Garfunkel, Graham Nash, and Jackson Browne. Registration requested.

Meet Live Owls This Saturday!

This Saturday, March 18, 3:00 pm meet live owls and get an in-depth look into the fascinating world of these common - but seldom seen - local inhabitants! Enjoy up-close observation of their amazing nocturnal hunting adaptations. Presented by Volunteers for Wildlife. Ages 6 and up. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Capoeira for Kids: Brazilian Martial Arts

Children ages 3 - 11 can learn the Brazilian martial art of Capoeira in our upcoming Saturday classes, March 25 - May 13*. Disguised as a dance and performed to musical instruments and traditional Brazilian songs, children will learn specific offensive and defensive movements and constantly be in motion Space may be limited. First come, first served. 


A culminating performance will take place with both age groups on May 20th at 11:00 am - 12:00 pm in the Ossie Davis Theater.


*10:00 am - 10:45 am, 3 - 5 year olds (Parents/guardians required to stay and participate)

Candidate Packages Available at NRPL

The library is holding candidate packets for the following positions:


4 English and 1 Spanish packets for the open Library Trustee positions 


1 English and 1 Spanish packet for the open Board of Education positions


Interested New Rochelle citizens can pick up packets from the Library Administrative offices and submit to the BOE Clerk at City Hall. The election will take place on Tuesday, May 16th.
