UME Marylanders Online Program Transition:

A Notice for MDEC Members

Dear partners,

The University of Maryland Extension (UME) Marylanders Online Digital Literacy Project will enter a new transitional phase beginning January 2026 through December 2026. During this period, the project will operate at reduced capacity and shift to a consultative model. Our focus will be on program sustainability and analysis, resource refinement, and quality assurance while continuing to deliver train-the-trainer support. We remain committed to supporting our partners' success through this transition and maintaining essential operations through December 2026.

Please click the button below to fill out this short form to help us coordinate future program direction.

Program Transition Timeline & Overview

Through December 31, 2025

Full staff, operations, and programming continue.

January 1, 2026 - December 31, 2026

Reduced staff and limited operational capacity.

In 2026, the Marylanders Online Tech Helpline will remain open with adjusted hours to continue serving Maryland residents. The same accessibility and language support will be available, with clear escalation pathways for partners who need additional assistance.

Core resources, including the website, Get Help and Give Help curricula, eGovernment modules, Housing Toolkit, facilitator guides, Certification & Training resources, and program materials, will remain available to support digital literacy efforts across Maryland.

Resource and workshop recordings will remain on the Marylanders Online YouTube channel, including the Chromebook Recovery Series, Empowering Health Series, Grant Planning Series, and Digital Equity Webinar Series.

Core staff will maintain oversight of the Maryland Digital Asset Mapping initiative, data collection, MONET, and related projects to ensure resources remain current, sustainable, and accessible for partner use.

There will be ongoing coordination support for the affiliate Marylanders Online Navigator Education Toolkit (MONET) digital navigator certification program. To request more information about MONET, please click here.

Digital inclusion resources, news, and events will continue to be shared via the program's website calendar, newsletter, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn profiles. Partners are encouraged to share updates by email to MarylandersOnline@umd.edu.
