Dear NECC Members & Community,
Beginning today, Thursday, November 10th, masks are preferred at the center, but no longer required. If you are participating in an in-person class, please check with the instructor – in certain classes the instructor will still require masks. Staff members may also choose to wear masks while they work to limit their exposure.
We want everyone in our community to feel welcome and safe, which is why we ask that you consider wearing a mask in the common areas of our building. That being said, we understand that it can be difficult to exercise with a mask on, so it is your choice whether you feel most comfortable with or without one.
Our new HVAC system is up and running (except in the gymnasium and pool), and the upgrade has significantly improved ventilation in most areas of the building. While you may not hear fans running, there is now a consistent flow of air from outside being pumped into our lobby, workout rooms, locker rooms, and downstairs areas.
The gym and pool areas will be heated by a separate system. Our contractors, Schommer & Sons, are currently waiting on a part for that system that has been delayed by the global supply chain issues.
As always: if you test positive, are experiencing symptoms, or have been exposed to someone who has COVID, please do not come to the center. We continue to follow these guidelines and to monitor rates of COVID transmission.
Stay healthy and well,
NECC Staff
