We hope everyone had an amazing and safe July 4th weekend. The weather was amazing even if it was a little humid. At least it was cooler than the week prior.
So last week I did an impromptu pedicure before the holiday weekend. I announced I was going to everyone in the office and whoever would like to join me, feel free!
Amanda decided to join me and suggested we go to a place down the street from work. She has been before and likes it. There was my first mistake.
Masking up, we enter. We sit down and of course, we are bantering back and forth through our masks. Mistake number 2.
The lady looks at me and says politely, “Is this your daughter?”
Amanda immediately says, “Ooh no, no, no, no, no!!”
Seriously, it’s too late. A bazillion no’s will not fix the fact that I actually colored my hair two days earlier with Scott’s help, that I have a mask on, and she is clearly judging me from the wrinkles around my eyes and my forehead. Too late.
We were really bantering then and Amanda is laughing so hard, she is crying. And I’m laughing so hard I almost wet my plants. So of course, I had to snap a pic to document the occasion.
Will there be a next time--getting nails done with Amanda? I haven’t decided yet. Clearly, I’m gonna need to up my moisturizer game and work on the bags around my eyes. And I’m taking suggestions on your recommendations!
All in a day’s work around here. Come see us and I promise we will help you pick the perfect plants. We won’t try to guess your age .... or your weight! We are a judge-free zone. ;)

PERENNIAL SUCCULENTS
We love all type of succulents! Perennial succulents are cold-hardy and overwinter just fine in our area. Pair Hens and Chicks, Stonecrop and Delosperma (Ice Plants) in a container or in well-draining soil for a beautiful combination. Many varieties produce beautiful blooms! They all love to be planted where they receive full sun.

RIC RAC CACTUS
Not only does this plant have a unique and fun to say name, the foliage is pretty fun and funky as well! The Ric Rac Cactus loves bright, indirect light. While you may think cacti love to go weeks without water, this variety will be happier if you water when the soil has dried out completely--likely every couple of weeks. It really is easy to care for and fun to propagate!

Meet Truman Pearce!
Role: HR/On-Site Therapist
Started at FGS: December 2020
Ice Cream: Peanut Butter
Treat: Blueberries
Toy: Whatever big brother Edison has
Last Book Read: The Last One He Chewed Up that Marsha was reading
Person: Marsha
Truman joined our team right before Christmas of last year. His big brothers, Chip (RIP) and Edison, decided they needed a little more help in the HR Therapy division of FGS. (We need lots of puppy snuggles and kisses around here.) When he isn't chasing Edison around, he is curled up in Marsha's office waiting for the next person to come along who needs cheering up. When he's off duty, he loves going for long walks on the trails by his house, chasing anything that moves, and of course, asserting his tiny authority over Edison.
