Olivia Castaldy, new intern at MEC-Fauquier 
Olivia Castaldy will join MEC-Fauquier for the spring semester as a student intern. She will be splitting her time between the Fauquier's Department of Economic Development and MEC-Fauquier. Currently the president of DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America) at Liberty High School, she recently won first place in the district in human resources management. She will compete on the state level in March. Olivia is participating in the internship program to learn about small businesses and how the County operates. The honor roll student is looking forward to a career in digital marketing.

Cachet Prescott is the new Director of the Small Business Development Center. This proud military spouse is a small business owner of 6+ years, a former SBDC Business Consultant, and former Director of Business Development for a five-star Chamber of Commerce. A double-certified HR professional, she brings expertise in organizational, career, leadership, and professional development, learning and development, and training and development.
Maribel Feliciano is the new Assistant Director of the Veterans Business Outreach Center (VBOC).  In 1996, she earned a degree in Finance and International Business from Illinois State University.  She relocated to Querétaro, Mexico, to experience the vibrant culture and the economic changes occurring. Her passion for cultures, languages, and economic development led her to earn an MBA from Thunderbird, AGSIM, in 2000.  Afterwards, she joined a small consultancy firm in London, England. Having spent several years raising her family, she is focusing her efforts on helping Veterans start their businesses. 
CBP Holiday Mixer 2017
Each year, the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce and CBP co-host a Holiday Mixer to say "thank you" to the small businesses, sponsors, volunteers, and the community that support them. On December 7, CBP celebrated another successful year! They featured favors from several local food makers: The Organic Grill Master, NNK Popcorn Bag, Doorstep Rasoi, Honeycakes Desserts, Petite Sweets by Ms. Jo, Sweet Twist of Ecuador, Quilla's Quinoa Desserts, Sinplicity Catering, and more! Over 200 guests attended, surpassing previous years' turnouts. Thanks to everyone that came out and helped CBP end 2017 on such a positive note. Read more
Turkish Coffee Lady grand opening
The grand opening of Turkish Coffee Lady, a gourmet coffee shop in Tyson's Corner Mall, was a highly anticipated event. Gizem Salcigil White and her support staff welcomed a turnout of visitors to the open-area café outside of Lord & Taylor. Mrs. White, a Turkish American mompreneur, gained the title of 'Turkish Coffee Lady' after founding the Turkish Coffee Truck project in 2012. She used the project as an opportunity to share her heritage and culture with a wide audience. Her open-air café serves traditional Turkish coffee, herbal tea, Turkish delights, sweet and salty treats, chocolate assortments, gourmet baklava, and Mediterranean ice-cream delights.  Read more
