CBP debuts "Lean for Makers" workshop series

New for 2016! CBP is offering an intensive 15-week pilot workshop series for "makers" (including food makers) to learn and apply lean methodologies to their businesses.  A cohort of up to 30 entrepreneurs will be taught by business experts using lectures, in-class exercises, prototyping, and real world engagements. CAIRD Sextant awarded Prime Navy Seaport E Contract
Rafael Olivieri, PhD, owner of CAIRD Sextant, just returned to dry land after taking part in shock testing for the USS JACKSON (LCS 6). As the Environmental Chief Scientist, he and his team of marine observers were ensuring that marine mammals and sea turtles are not harmed by the shell testing.  As a result of their excellent work and the contacts they made to comply with DCAA audit requirements, they have been awarded a Prime Navy Seaport E Contract.  Read more

Successful debut of Ignite Fauquier
Ignite Fauquier successfully set alight the local business community with its initial program to help interested individuals brainstorm solutions to various challenges. A large crowd gathered to hear a presentation by Scott Harlan, president of the Greater Warrenton Chamber of Commerce and owner of talk19 media. Harlan shared the challenges of spending time on the behalf of a client which was not designated as billable. The crowd gave a litany of solutions from time-tracking software to retainers.  Read more
