Mason SBDC's first Lunch and Learn of the year focuses on AI tools for small business

2025 Lunch and Learn series opened with an introductory workshop on AI tools for small business 27 attendees took part in the workshop presented by Hussain Shah, SME for Digital Marketing & Vijay Vaswani, Director for Regional Partnerships held on January 23, 2025 at Mason SBDC’s Herndon location, hosted by Office Evolution (Herndon).

George Siragusa leads at the Student Innovator Mastermind session at GMU's MIX at Mason

George Siragusa was the featured guest expert for the March 7, 2025 session of the Spring 2025 Student Innovator Mastermind program. Participants were introduced to the Business Model Canvas with a focus on Value Proposition and Customer Segmentation.

George Siragusa leads interactive workshop for Osbourn High School students.

On Tuesday, March 11th, Mason SBDC's Senior Business Advisor, George Siragusa, aka "Coach S." , addressed Student Entrepreneurs who are enrolled in an elective course at Osbourn High School in Manassas, Va.  

Hosted by the course instructor, Mr. Satyam Patel, George facilitated an interactive workshop focused on using the Lean Startup's Value Proposition Design framework to begin to build out a Business Model Canvas, the modern equivalent of a business plan. 

Students' business ideas ranged from retail to tech, to community based services and experienced using the Value Proposition Design tools to ensure their ideas for new business ventures were built on a solid foundation of understanding:

• who their customer segments are
• who their competition is
• what value they are creating 
• level of "fit" their ideas have with the market needs.
