I want to invite YOU to consider joining the choir for a short term commitment to sing for Palm Sunday and/or Easter. No auditions!  All I ask is for you to have a desire to add your voice to the choir to glorify God through the music that is sung.  If you would like to join the choir for these two special Sundays, I invite you to begin coming to rehearsals on Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m., beginning March 11. Anthems for these two Sundays will be rehearsed at the top of the rehearsal. The choir will sing two dynamic Palm Sunday anthems on April 5, and two exciting anthems with trumpet and piano or organ for Easter, April 12.

Please see me after worship and say YES to singing in the choir for this special short term commitment!  Questions? Email me at cbaird@masonumc.org .

We are so grateful for the church's help and hope to continue to provide hygiene items for homeless women.

Let's fill the Community Cupboard for the month of March!
A group of churches in the community are now joining forces to take on a particular month of the year in order to keep the cupboard located in the back of the Mason UMC parking lot full for those in need. March is the month for Mason UMC to stock the cupboard. For a full list of items to donate, you may pick up a list in the lobby and bring by your donations!

Mason UMC has an opportunity to be sent on mission on Saturday, April 11 to serve those who need a meal. Queen City Kitchen on Vine Street in Cincinnati is a place that serves many experiencing homelessness and/or experiencing other needs. Those who come to serve are the ones truly blessed. We need smiling faces and helping hands to prepare meals, load plates and pass them to the guests.

Also consider inviting someone you know (especially if they are not involved in church) to come with you. This type of experience is often a gateway to finding Jesus. Beginning with prayer, please consider this request.

We meet at the church At 9:45 a.m. to carpool together. We will be back to the church by approximately 2:00 p.m. Wear closed toed shoes and clothes to work in.

We also need cookies (preferably bagged in sandwich bags: 2-3 cookies/bag). The guests love our home baked cookies! Cookies can be left in a bin in the kitchen by the sanctuary the week before April 11. If you can bake any amount of cookies and/or if you can attend on Apr.11 with or without someone to accompany you, please contact Kristen Smith at kristenandjeffsmith@gmail.com or call or text 513-407-2028.

We will be providing a meal for Interfaith Hospitality Network on Monday, March 23.2020.  You can help with this ministry by signing up to work that evening or to provide a food item.  Sign up at the Welcome Desk in the lobby. Thank you in advance for your help!

On Sunday, March 8, Training in Suicide Prevention will be presented by Envision Partnerships at Faith Community United Methodist Church, 8230 Cox Road in West Chester, OH 45069.

Registration and pizza will be at 5 pm
Training sessions 5:30 - 7 pm
Gather Together to conclude and end in prayer 7-7:15 pm

The training is available for both teens and parents. Teens will be given Lifelines training designed to train teens to be helpful to a friend in a difficult situation. Teens will learn the warning signs of suicide and that keeping a secret is never OK. Kristen Smith of Mason UMC works for Envision Partnerships and will be providing the teen training.

In a separate room, Kristina Latta will provide training for Adults in QPR: Question, Persuade, Refer - 3 simple steps to help save a life from suicide.

Attendees will receive background of the prevalence of suicide and learn how to recognize the warning signs of suicide, how o offer hope, and how to get help to save a life.
