Music On The Square

Catch some big band sounds at the Masonic Cemetery!

The Swing Shift Jazz Orchestra is a 17-piece big band that plays a wide variety of traditional and progressive jazz. SSJO has been entertaining audiences in the Eugene-Springfield area and Oregon for nearly 44 years. The concert will be outdoors on the Public Square at the top of the hill. The concert starts at 5 PM.

There is no parking in the cemetery, but gates will be open for drop-offs at Hope Abbey for all cemetery concerts.

For the outdoor Music On The Square concerts, there is a steep uphill walk on the road to the Public Square. There is no transportation to get you up there.

An easier option for walking to the Public Square is to take the more gradual road straight ahead from the main 25th and University entrance. Follow it around and it will lead you to the Public Square.

The easiest option for getting to the Public Square is to be dropped off at the Elinor Street entrance on the south edge of the cemetery. Walk north towards the Public Square on level ground. Be aware that there is very little parking at the Elinor Street entrance.

Music on the Square

The musical offerings by the Eugene Masonic Cemetery Association have expanded. Last summer, we experimented with presenting live music in the Public Square at the top of the hill. That worked so well that we've programmed a full season of outdoor music. We have a delightful summer series called Music on the Square. Bring a chair and a picnic supper if you wish.

As always, both Music On The Square and Music To Die For are free, but donations are gladly accepted for cemetery maintenance.

Here's what's coming up.
