Nearly 75 percent of the mass attacks were carried out with a firearm which was illegally acquired. Half of the attacks involved business locations where attackers had a personal relationship. Eighteen percent of the attackers were motivated by ideological bias-related or political beliefs. Eight percent of the attacks were at k-12 schools, colleges and universities. NTAC
