Explore the Mass Digital Health Jobs Board
As summer 2020 draws to a close, many organizations in the Mass Digital Health cluster have begun a fall hiring push. While many companies paused hiring early in the pandemic, from May to July 2020 we observed an addition of 424 new job postings on the Massachusetts Digital Health Jobs Board. This surge is consistent with the strong track record of digital health companies during the pandemic. In fact, U.S. digital health companies raised a record shattering $5.4 billion in the first half of 2020. Deadlines for Major Competitions Approaching
MIT Hacking Medicine is back. Last year 400+ innovators gathered in the MIT Media Lab to create disruptive healthcare solutions. This year's event will be entirely remote and will take place from October 2-4. If you are interested, applications to participate or mentor are now open and will be accepted on a rolling basis until September 11, 2020. Applications are open to all disciplines, no coding experience required. Read more about how to apply.
The deadline to enter a competition from the federal Department of Health and Human Services on social isolation and loneliness in older adults is quickly approaching. A total of $750,000 in prizes will be awarded in the MENTAL (Mobilizing and Empowering the Nation and Technology to Address Loneliness) Health Challenge for the development of an online system that recommends programs, activities and resources to others to help them engage in their surrounding community. Applications for Phase 1 of the Challenge are due by September 8, 2020. Read more.
The deadline to apply for Boston Children’s IDHA Accelerator is September 14, 2020. The accelerator will review and consider all startups in the digital health space but they are prioritizing the following areas: virtual-first care, behavioral health, social determinants of health, and artificial intelligence/automation. Applications for the next MassChallenge HealthTech cohort open September 8, 2020 and close on October 8, 2020. Each year, the MCHT matches high-impact, digital health startups with partners to collaborate on projects focused on some of our greatest healthcare challenges. Read more.

  • Magellan Health began a pilot of Mightier's behavioral health video game treatment. Read more in Mobi Health News.

  • Massachusetts doctors urge the federal government to make recent changes to telehealth regulations permanent. Read more in Boston Business Journal.

  • The free dataset run by Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center known as MIMIC received a major update when the fourth version was released. The new version includes data up to 2018, a big jump from the previous version that only went up to 2012. Read more in Physio.Net.

  • Dr. John Brownstein, Chief Innovation Officer for Boston Children's Hospital and a professor of epidemiology at Harvard Medical School recently talked with ABC News about the benefits of wearables and how they could possibly identify COVID-19 symptoms early. Watch on ABC News.

  • Boston Medical Center was one of four hospitals profield in a Health Tech Magazine piece on expanded telemedicine service. Chief Information Officer Dr. Rebecca Mishuris was able to stand up a system capable of handling 1,500 patients a day within just 48 hours. Read more at Health Tech Magazine.

Michael Greely of Flare Capital Partners is scheduled to speak on a panel on investing during the pandemic on September 22 at 3:50pm. 
DTx East 2020

The DTx summits are the home for key decision makers in the rapidly growing digital therapeutics industry to meet, learn and connect.
