Community Newsletter
Hello Talent Professionals,

I can't believe we passed one year since our offices were closed, and I am encouraged by the silver linings around us, feeling optimistic about a strong 2021, regardless of what work will look like!

At MassTLC, we have big plans to bring you and your team new programming that your workforce can benefit from. Soon, we will send you information regarding Leadership Development, DEI initiatives, community programs, and executive forums. We are also offering value to your organization by delivering thought leadership and talent-focused content from our members.

This month, we paused to consider all the amazing women around us for International Women's Day and Women's History Month. Check out our stories on the strong women leaders who are on the MassTLC Board of Trustees on Twitter.

As always, we are grateful to our sponsor, AceUp.

Warm Regards and Stay Well,
Nayla Daly

Insights
  • Building A Successful Mentor Program: Many companies have mentor programs to develop their employees and help them advance in their careers, and many companies would like to launch such a program but do not know how. NETSCOUT has worked to build a thoughtful, structured, and successful program and has even advised other companies on how to do the same. We had the opportunity to speak with Lisa Hull, HR Manager at NETSCOUT, to learn a little more about how the company has structured its offering. Read more here.

  • CHRO Roundtable: What is the State of Your Talent Strategy: Are you set up to crush it? Heads of Talent in the tech landscape gathered this month to discuss strategies, initiatives, and the tech stack needed to navigate their workforce through an uncertain environment. Jackie Dube, SVP of Talent Optimization at The Predictive Index, hosted this discussion. She guided attendees with a brief presentation that addressed strategies for executive alignment, dealing with understaffing, and resource constraints in response to the pandemic. Watch the session and learn more here.

  • Capitalizing on the AR/VR Opportunity By Building a Talent Pipeline: XR Terra, a Boston-based company, “empowering the next generation of XR talent,” is not just a training company. I sat down (virtually, of course) with XR Terra Founder and CEO, Hakan Satiroglu, and Vice President of Product, Kachina Studer, to learn more about the company and its mission. Read more here.

  • Finding My True Purpose and Identity: I came to the United States alone at the age of 16. No family, just me. People tell me I am brave for doing so, but at the time, I didn’t think much of it. When you are young, you don’t have as much fear, and it enables you to approach things differently. I reflect on this often when I’m faced with challenges. Read more here.

  • The Importance of Ending the Travel Ban: Immigrants play a vital role in the tech sector, as innovators and as job creators. The Travel Ban substantially undermines the ability of the Massachusetts technology industry to compete in the international marketplace by, among other things, discouraging potential investors, entrepreneurs, and customers from traveling to the U.S. and by discouraging talented students from studying at local universities.
