Massachusetts Buy American Legislation Ready for a Committee Vote

Greetings!

First, thank you to everyone who has already contacted their legislators to ask for support for S2546 , the Massachusetts legislation that would require cities and towns to give preference to U.S. manufacturers when buying steel, iron, and other materials for new buildings and renovations.

Now we are asking you to contact the Joint Committee on State Administration and Regulatory Oversight members and ask them to give the bill a favorable report.

Your letters are critically important right now as the Committee must issue a report on the legislation next week. A Sample Letter for this effort and the Committee List is below.

Please know you can send a letter even if you do not live or work in Massachusetts. Also, when drafting your letter, make sure to personalize the fields that are bolded and in parentheses.

I hope that you and your family are safe and well.

I work in (Massachusetts) / (New England) in the steel fabrication industry. I am writing to ask that you vote in support of S2546 , the Massachusetts bill that would require cities and towns to give preference to U.S. manufacturers when buying steel, iron, and other materials for new buildings and renovations.

We support all efforts that provide domestic manufacturers with a preference over foreign competition.
