ST VINCENT DE PAUL THANKS YOU An older man works part-time time earning a modest salary. He has resided in the same apartment for over five years and because of his low salary, he qualified and paid a subsidized rent. When the subsidy covering a large portion of his rent ended, he was not notified immediately. Consequently, the property manager presented a bill with the new larger amount of rent. This bill included the current month’s rent and the balance for the previous two months rent still owed. The surprise rental debt caused a lot of anxiety to this neighbor who always paid his rent in full. This amount was beyond what he could pay. This neighbor called the SVdP Helpline (206-767-6449 or apply online https://svdpseattle.org/get-help/online-help-request-form/). Because of your support, we paid a portion of his rent and relieved some of his anxiety. Information, Jo Ann Wiesner, 206-291-4012 or wiesnerjo@gmail.com.
