INTERESTED IN BECOMING CATHOLIC? Seeking a closer relationship with God? Feeling the need for spiritual community and support? Wanting to make the Catholic faith your own? Wondering how to go about joining the Catholic Church? The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) might be for you. Information John Marquez, 206-654-4640, jmarquez@stjames-cathedral.org.

ARE YOU A REGISTERED PARISHIONER AT ST. JAMES? Many who attend St. James regularly and consider the Cathedral their parish have never officially registered. We strongly encourage you to register. Registered parishioners receive important mailings from the Cathedral (including offering envelopes!). You can register online at www.stjames-cathedral.org.

ST VINCENT DE PAUL THANKS YOU A young woman experienced anxiety and depression after the death of a family member. She left a long time job in an attempt to reset her life. However, when she started a new job, her mental state contributed to poor attendance and she was let go. Because of her loss of income, the woman was forced to drop therapy treating her medical issues. Additionally, she fell behind in paying rent. The woman called the St Vincent de Paul Helpline requesting assistance (206-767-6449). Thanks to your support, we were able to offer rental assistance and relieve some of her anxiety. Also, the woman expressed hope about an appealing job opportunity. Information, Jo Ann Wiesner, 206-291-4012 or wiesnerjo@gmail.com.

KIDS GRADES 1-12 INVITED TO SING WITH THE YOUTH MUSIC PROGRAM THIS FALL Enrollment is open to each of the Cathedral’s Youth Music Program ensembles! All interested participants are encouraged to complete and send in registration to the Youth Music Office by September 5 to receive a $25 discount on Fall semester tuition. Choirs begin meeting the week of September 12 with Ms. Stacey Sunde, Director of Youth Music. Let us all come back together to sing a new song unto the Lord! Information, Youth Music Office, youthmusic@stjames-cathedral.org; 206-382-4876; https://www.stjames-cathedral.org/music/youthmusic/default.aspx.

TWO JOB OPENINGS: YOUTH MINISTER/COORDINATOR OF YOUNG ADULT ACTIVITIES AND DIRECTOR OF CHILDREN’S FAITH FORMATION St. James Cathedral has an immediate opening for a Youth Minister who will also serve as mentor to our Young Adult community. We also have an opening for a Director of our Children’s Faith Formation program. Applicants for either position must be an active member of a Catholic parish, have excellent people skills, and relevant experience. These are both full-time positions with an Archdiocesan Benefits package. If you know a likely candidate, please share this information with them! For information, or to submit your application, Larry Brouse, 206-382-4280 or lbrouse@stjames-cathedral.org.

SATURDAY CONFESSIONS are heard immediately following the 8:00am Mass on Saturday mornings, from 8:30am to 9:30am.

VISIT THE CATHEDRAL COLUMBARIUM The Cathedral’s new Columbarium was blessed by Archbishop Etienne last December. A columbarium is a cemetery for the reverent burial of cremated remains. The way we honor the mortal remains of our deceased family members and friends is a reflection of the faith we profess in the Nicene Creed: we believe in the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. The columbarium is open for prayer whenever the Cathedral is open.
