IndivisibleWIN
Newsletter January 15, 2026
Engage - Act - Effect Change
| | | | |
Dear All,
This weekend, crowds gathered at nearly 1,200 protests in all 50 states and in Washington DC. Here in Massachusetts, over 500 people gathered in Lexington, many carrying signs with the name and image of Renée Nicole Good, and there were crowds as well in Burlington, Melrose, Watertown, Concord, Newton, Brookline, and many other local communities.
We saw bigger crowds in 2025: In fact, the Hands Off rallies in June and October were the two largest one-day protests in American history. However, this weekends' protests were thrown together in less than 48 hours. When this newsletter went out last Thursday at 9am, there were few scheduled events. On Thursday evening, over 35,000 people participated in a National Indivisible Zoom which encouraged communities to plan ICE Out for Good protests; by the next day, over 1,000 events had already been planned.
And you showed up! Thank you to all who brought signs or came and stood in solidarity; to those who honked or waved as you drove by; and to the countless others who forwarded a video, had a difficult conversation, sent us a prayer, or were with us in spirit.
Thank you for keeping it peaceful. Thank you for not giving up. Thank you for doing this work with us. It's a long road to the midterms, and we need to keep the pressure on Congress and corporations to do what is right and protect democracy.
Read on for ways you can be involved this week:

Our next in-person workshop:
Truth Brigade Training
Presenter: Vanessa Linsey
When: Monday January 26, 2026
Where: Winchester Public Library, Large Meeting Room
Time: 6p-7:30p
Professional mediator Vanessa Linsey headlines Indivisible Winchester's speaker series on January 26th with a lively, interactive communication workshop. In this 90-minute session inspired by Indivisible's “Truth Brigade,” attendees will learn positive approaches to political conversation at a time of unprecedented polarization and disinformation. Participants will understand how to recognize disinformation, when to engage (and when NOT to), and what they can do to change the dynamic through truthful, firm, and friendly conversation tactics. Attendees may role-play de-escalation, practice finding common ground, focus on fact sharing, experiment with “stop and think” questions, and try drafting social media comments. Staying composed during rapid response moments is easier said than done, and this hands-on session will prepare attendees to communicate effectively and positively. Space is limited and confirmations will be required before the event.
About the presenter:
Vanessa is a Cornell-trained family mediator who has logged many thousands of hours facilitating interpersonal conflict. Her engaging communication workshops feature mindfulness-based approaches to mutual understanding. Vanessa is a mother of several and author of a prescriptive memoir on mindfulness.
Please RSVP if you plan to attend, and cancel your RSVP if your plans change. Since this is an interactive workshop, we need to be sure that we are not under or over subscribed. Confirmations will be required before the event. We appreciate your understanding.
**Please Note: This is a 90 minute program**

Call to Action! Now!
Call your Representative to Stop Trump's War in Venezuela
| | |
The Trump administration is disregarding national sovereignty and forcing a regime change--all without authorization from Congress and without citing evidence of a legitimate threat to the United States. The Constitution states clearly that war powers belong to Congress, not the White House. Call your representative to stand up to Trump.

Stop Massport from Violating the MA Constitution

Massachusetts residents are being removed from our state through charter flights from Hanscom Field without access to counsel or family support, violating their due process rights under our State Constitution. Join our friends at Lexington Alarm by doing one of the following:
Option 1 (approx 2 minutes of your time): Send an email directly to Massport's public comment address and paste a letter into Gov. Healey's comment form.
Option 2 (approx 10 minutes of your time + cost of postage): Mail Individual Letters to All 7 Board Members
Letters provided
Check out both options HERE.
