POORLY DRAWN PETS
FUNDRAISER IS GOING ON NOW!
It’s time for some FUNdraising!! Our first annual Poorly Drawn Pets (PDP) event is ready for your photos! We have dedicated volunteers standing by from June 15th-20th, eager to turn your pet into a timeless work of art - or at least make you laugh!!

Here’s the deal: Donate $15 to our rescue pups and we’ll draw your pet. But be warned! Some of us are a whole lot better at caring for animals than we are at drawing them. You *might* get one of our super talented professional artists (who stepped up to help). Or, you might get one of us with...well...lesser talents.

Our organization works in Washington and Oregon to help lost or surrendered Malamutes find their furever homes and we rely on donations to make that work possible, but it doesn’t mean we can’t have a little fun while we’re at it!

TO SUBMIT YOUR PHOTOS:

  1. Simply click on the button below to be taken to our PDP webpage for payment options. Once you’ve paid, email your photo to WAMALWoo@gmail.com. Our team will then work their ‘magic’ and reply with a picture of your handmade masterpiece as soon as they can, which we will then forward to you. We will be posting your photo and resulting art rendition to our main WAMAL Facebook page as well. You can follow us at @WAMALrescue.
  2.  All pets are welcome—dogs, cats, fish, snakes, horses—you name it!
  3.  **Note: you will receive a digital copy of your masterpiece not the original drawing; but you are welcome to copy and print your artwork for framing, or make a custom sticker, or get it printed on a t-shirt. The creative possibilities are endless!
  4. There’s no limit to how many drawings you can purchase; the more donations we receive, the more we can help our pups! WAMAL is a 100% volunteer run, 501(c)3 non-profit rescue.

Thank you all! For any questions just email MalHappyTails@gmail.com! What are you waiting for? Let’s get this pawty started!!!
URGENT: SHORT TERM FOSTERS NEEDED!
With so many mals currently in rescue, both our kennels and available foster homes remain near or at full capacity. We understand that most people aren't in a position to adopt or even foster a mal long-term - but is there any way a pup could just crash with you for a week or two?

WAMAL has a pressing need for more short term/backup foster homes. As a short term foster, you would host a pup briefly either while long-term fosters were out of town, or while the pup recovers from spay/neuter or other medical procedures. It's a way you can make a huge difference without a huge commitment - and with summer vacations on the horizon, our need is at its highest right now.

Ideally we are looking for foster homes that fit the following requirements:
  • Malamute or other Northern Breed experience
  • No resident cats (or as most mals call them, "prey")
  • No kids under 8
  • Secure fencing or containment
  • Ability to separate the foster dog from any resident dogs as needed

If you can help, please click the button below to email fosters@wamal.com. Our foster coordinators look forward to working with you! And if you know of anyone else in the PNW area that would be a good short term fit please forward this to them as well - thank you!

ADOPTABLE DOG SHOWCASE
Are you thinking you might like a malamute if only they didn't pull on the leash so hard? If so then I might be just the pup for you! My name is Django and with my excellent mobility even at 11 years old I still enjoy long walks; but unlike most mals I am a total gentleman on the leash!

I know all my basic commands and I'm very affectionate to people, including the little ones! And I'm such a good boy I even leave the cats at my current place alone. But we all have our boundaries, and where I gotta draw the line is that I don't really want to share space with other dogs. I'll just ignore them when we're out walking as long as they aren't in my face, but I want to be the only doggo in my new home. What can I say, I'm just more of a "people dog" than a "dog dog"! But most of all I'm just a very good dog!

I am running out of time to find a new home and I'd really rather not end up in a kennel, so if you could consider fostering or adopting me I would be so very grateful!
Hi, I'm Midas and I'm looking for a family with a heart of gold! I love humans with my whole heart - which sadly has been broken quite a few times. But I still believe that someone out there is a perfect match for me!

I am around 4 years old and I'm kind of what the humans would call a "velcro dog." I just want to be near my people; so when I'm not I may try to escape to go find them - and I'm pretty skilled at doing so! A family where someone works from home or is retired would be a dream come true for me! Otherwise I'll need a family who can provide secure containment to keep me safe when they aren't there.

I can also get a bit jealous of other pups loving on my humans, so I should probably be the only dog in your home - but outside the home I get along well with most other dogs and I'd love to have some outdoor puppy playdates!

I really long for my furever home - so if you are looking for commitment please apply for me today!
If neither of these pups seem like a good fit for you please make sure to check out all the other wonderful dogs WAMAL has up for adoption right now!
