Dear Miramonte Community,
|
Next week marks the end of the first semester and is, of course, Finals Week. By this point in the year, students are feeling both academically and emotionally drained, so your positive words of encouragement this weekend can make a big difference. Remind them that they’ve worked hard, they’re prepared, and they have what it takes to succeed if they stay focused through the finish line. And, it may sound like a cliché, but simple reminders like getting extra sleep, eating a healthy breakfast, and keeping nutritious snacks on hand can go a long way.
Lastly, in order to minimize classroom and student disruptions during Finals Week, please tell your child to give themselves extra time to get to school (traffic is more congested during Finals Week), and to follow all normal attendance policies:
-
If your student is late or missing the first class of the day, call or email the attendance office (mhsattendance@auhsdschools.org) as soon as possible.
- If your student is leaving early or missing the second class of the day, call or email the attendance office the night before or morning of.
- All students must sign in at the Main Office if coming to school late.
- All students must pick up their slip and sign out if leaving early as we will be unable to call students out of class.
- Students will NOT be allowed to walk in to the attendance office asking to leave campus without prior approval via phone or email.
See you at the Broadway Showcase tonight, have a great weekend, and Go Mats!

Happy Friday Miramonte Families,
|
Thank you to all the families who donated snacks and drinks for Exam Jams this past week. Special thanks to our amazing Hospitality Team for coordinating: Catherine Johnson and Emily Schultz
As we head into finals next week, I hope your students are feeling supported and well-prepared. It’s impressive to see all the hard work they put in during this busy time!
It’s hard to believe we are almost at the end of the first semester and halfway through the school year! This means it's already time to start thinking about 2025-26 and how you’d like to participate with the Parents' Club. Our Nominating Committee is being formed and will meet in January to put together a Board of amazing parent volunteers. If you'd like to join the Nominating Committee or take on a role next year, please reach out to our Parliamentarian, Amy Stuffmann. There are jobs of all sizes and commitments, so please join us! And, if you'd like to chair or help with an event for your class, please reach out to your class Parent Advisors. You can find all of their contact info under the "Class News & Activities" tab of the Miramonte Parents' Club website.
As always, please reach out with any questions or concerns.
Warmly,
Christina Linezo
Chair MHS Parents' Club

Seniors
- Please keep in mind that the counseling office is closed during the upcoming winter break and no one will be available to send transcripts.
- If your senior is applying to a college that requires an official transcript, they should make the request via Maia Learning.
- If your student has an application deadline in January, the final day to order an initial transcript is Wednesday, December 18th.
-
As Early Decision and Early Action decisions begin to roll out, please read and share this article from Tulane University’s Director of Admission on reducing admission anxiety.
-
Mid-Year Transcripts: As long as you have requested an initial transcript, your counselor will send your mid-year report. If you have not requested an initial transcript, you will need to do so before any transcripts can be sent.

Throughout the week at lunch and in conversations with students every day, Wellness has emphasized the importance of finding ways to reduce stress, take breaks and take care of themselves! From getting enough sleep, to taking time to get outside, to facing their fears, students have engaged in activities that have helped them learn about ways to cope and de-stress. On Friday we had a table about the benefits of laughter!
Next week, there will be therapy dogs every day between finals.
Looking for a tool to help your student stay positive and improve their well being? A Miramonte student has created a beautiful guided personal daily journal. Find more information and how to order the journal here
